This happened to the Pies before their 2023 flag where they had a drop off before the end of the season. I’m definitely not counting my chickens.

@binman do you think Pies are loading ahead of finals?

Always worth watching. Colling wobbles being thumped

For a bloke who didn’t want to be at Melbourne Houston is certainly playing like he is 😂

Always enjoyable seeing Collingwood fall apart.

But we now have a newfound purpose to our remaining games.

We must beat Hawthorn next week.

Everyone will declare they are into the finals now, because they will assume a win against us next week.

They’ll hopefully have been so focused on tonight that maybe they’ll have their foot off the pedal next week.

If we only win one more game this year, please let it be next week.

I’d prefer we beat the Pies if we only had 1 game to pick a W

Beg to differ TU.

If we lose to Dogs and Hawks (and several other results go our way), our final match will by for the Pies playing finals (assuming Crows beat them next week)…

Hoolly doolly wouldn’t that be juicy.

The last 7-8 Thursday night games have been blowouts. 5 day breaks aren’t helping.

From the outer

Yep, took his eyes off the ball and went for Howe. Thats weeks

He watched Howe the whole time and took him out - 4 weeks at least

Any reasonable player would have seen that coming, 3 weeks just has to be

3 weeks after the Steven may debacle the AFL Have painted themselves into a corner, any reasonable player would have anticipated the collision

Surely Newcombe should have been able to predict the bounce of the ball as any reasonable player would and also slow down to minimise impact. Looking at 6 weeks for mine. @davidking34

Didn't the tribunal also declare that May didn't elect to bump and that the decision to abort the contest should have been made a few steps earlier before contact was inevitable? Not sure how this is different.

It's literally milliseconds different to May, and Newcombe failed to show duty of care.

Very strange way to tackle. Stayed vertical with arms by his side. He had options and caused the contact, should be suspended

Outcome based. 3 weeks for failing duty of care

He locked eyes on him from 3 yards out, lined him up and took him out. If May got rubbed out so should Newcombe.

He took his eyes off the ball and lined him up. Straight to the tribunal

That’s 4 weeks. Impacted careless. High. Severe impact. How can he get off ???? It’s definitely going to the tribunal.

4 weeks. how is this different to may ? it’s the same just to go going for the ball and hits high

Collingwood are the Bulldogs of our 2021 - peaked too early. Crows are us.

Burgess magic.

Tim Membrey sums Collingwood up.

Collingwood crowd clapping him off .Fair enough.

But they didn’t clap Gus off.

Too busy chanting “Collingwood “

I still haven’t got over that and never will. 😡

Pies have Crows in Adelaide next week. The lose that then they are playing for finals against us in the last.

You reckon we can repay the favour of 2017? If I was on the list this is exactly what I would be thinking.

For all the shy te we've been put through.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
