Storm (2) play Broncos(6) at the Rectangular Stadium. (tonight 7:50pm)

A big game in the context of the upcoming finals

Panthers to continue their winning run after a bad start to the season

That has to be three weeks for Newcombe (not that I agree, but based on precedent, it has to be).

David King where is your strong stance on this one you [censored]

Has to be 3 weeks right?

The Big Crunch. Thinking of the May suspension, I would like to think that someone will be suspended…. so there is some consistency

7 running with the 'accident' line too

I realise I’m a psycho but I HATE the patronising tone the commentators use when someone gets injured like this. Explaining to us spuds that they’re getting the best medical care etc

How is that different to May? Second to the footy didn't elect to bump didn't leave the ground, just going for the footy. 3 weeks

Ha King who wanted May thrown out for six weeks say pure accident. What is the difference. Make a complete fool of himself.

He wasn't watching the ball at all. 3 weeks

He took his eyes off the ball and was looking at Howe. Definitely much earlier than when May saw the Sydney player. King really is insufferable.

Collingwood crowd clapping him off .Fair enough.

But they didn’t clap Gus off.

Too busy chanting “Collingwood “

Jersey colour. Hawks HQ favourite this year.

Sports entertainment.

They were clapping their own player off. They were booing Newcombe when he went down the race.

This game is real Sophie’s Choice stuff. It’s Collingwood I’d enjoy seeing Hawthorn miss finals

Nothing against Newcombe but I think the AFL will find a way to get him off.

Do not like thr hawks. But ABC trumps my feelings. Come on hawkers

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
