@Neil Crompton round 2 NM game had already seal Goodies exit. The players were disinterested. Was the most pathetic onfield performance i have EVER witnessed. Any club leader would also have recognised this - im a tally astounded he wasn't walked out of the club then and there. If that time correlates with coffee with Bucks - it means our i coming Pres is 100% in tune with the needs of the club going forwards.

I thought the season was done after round 2.

I thought Goodwin was done after round 5. That loss to the Bombers in Adelaide was unforgiveable.

I'm shocked that a coaching search panel hasn't already been formed.

It’s about optics. The appearance of a process is the process. Think of it as a kind of insurance for the board, so they can say ‘We went through a thorough process’.

Look at Andrew Dillon. Took the AFL a year of multimillion dollar recruitment fees to discover that, unbelievably, the best man for the job was in the room at the initial meeting.

It's not about re energise of the Pies.

McCrae can actually coach game plan and structures.

So can Buckley. You don’t accidentally make grand finals or deep finals runs.

easy to remember that one slightly worse kick from dom sheed and bucks is a premiership coach.

Whatever happens with senior coach we should get Tom Hawkins for forward line coach asap

He cant teach the rest of team how to handball and kick

All this coaching panel nonsense…

As if we haven’t been calling candidates for weeks. Green said as much.

Though some will suggest otherwise the writing was on the wall after 24.

Cracks started to appear as soon as we lost against Carlton in 2023.

We have a list that can be built on. Figure out how to trade Trac to Hawthorn and Clarry to Geelong.

Bucks has plenty to work with if we can move on some of the old guard that are holding us back.

It seems Buckley is keen, it maybe because he doesn't see us as a basket case. That being the case he gets the job. The other experienced head coaches don't grab me.

Luggage nowhere in sight for him today, either!

Who ever is coach, will they have the balls or the backing to move on Salem,Viney and Tracc,if not its more of the same

Salem is a must.

Viney, can't do that to a heart and soul player.

Petracca, we'll see.

You are joking with Salem, not accountable in defence and is just stat hunting

I mean he is a must trade. Can't keep him.

Lever’s the one for me. Have to trade him. Disco’s only going to get better in his role. Enough there in Petty Disco May Adams Derksen Howes to cover him. There’s a club out there silly enough to give a first rounder for him, North or Bulldogs. He’s not going to be worth that again if we hold him for another year. Time to get aggressive

Better to have a brain than 'balls'. Pathetic.

Salem is a joke.. no wonder McVee is not happy. Viney is also our weakest midfielder. Oliver looked a different product today.

Viney is done as a top liner

Salem - Kangas?

McVee can go , can be replaced

Sparrow- can go, can be replacec

Take offers on Lever snd May

Accept Oliver and Petracca are probably just B plus players from here.

Might be the reason why there is no signing, yet anyway 🤔

So, I want to know everyone’s opinion on Chaplin not putting his hand up.

He says he’s learning and happy to, but also wants to be a senior coach.

I feel he wants to do it anywhere but at Melbourne and I’m curious on what you guys thinks going on there?

Probably just means he's no mug and won't embarrass himself knowing we already had a sights firmly set on a Buckley/Longmire type

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
