How about as High Performance Manager Ethan ?

Would supplement the coach very well

Buckley had a game style that was too conservative. That style won't work today

Hird would possibly be able to bring sponsorship with major enhancement companies like

SupplementsRUs

and travel companies like

Cartel Tours

Could be a financial bonanza for the Club

Carlton will not move on Voss this season - despite the noise and rhetoric, Rob Priestly will not do that. He doesn't operate like that. Graham Wright has been given the license to get creative and regenerate the list, but Voss will be backed to see out his contract.

This is a positive for us, because anyone wanting a gig now/not having to wait for tassie gets to go through the process

We got rid of our premiership winning coach because the team was underperforming expectations while trying to transition to a new style of play, choked in finals twice in a row, and had off the field drama.

And as far as I can tell, every experienced coach mentioned here has coached teams that consistently underperformed expectations, frequently choked in the finals, or has been a part of significant off field drama.

If the playing group is staying relatively the same, the least objectionable experienced coach is Longmire.

But today feels like the beginning of a larger MFC overhaul, potentially including many senior players, in which case it would be nice to get someone younger with fresh ideas that will be around to take the club forward with the new young core.

Wouldn't you appoint a new Coach before kicking out old players??

One caller on SEN “heard” the following and before you all hurl vomit at me let me cover myself in a plastic bag.

Simpson ——Carlton

Longmire ——North

Hinkley ———Demons.

I know a few here don’t like Hinkley, but I like the character. To me it wouldn’t be the worst idea.

I don’t know where that leaves Clarko though 😂

Was said caller Johnny from Epping?

Ok. This is the perfect time to introduce Clarry to the role of Captain/Coach. You beauty. Go Clarry.

I like it. Brings a new training facility with him at Revs on Chapel.

Dunno about the coach gig but l would love to see Cam Bruce back in some capacity. Always thought he had a good footy brain.

I would love Cam Bruce back as coach. Has had plenty of apprenticeships and is a good student of the game. Excellent CV.

Great player and bloke. He would be highly respected by his charges.

You can see why Longmire is so appealing, he is a strong personality and has worked in/created one of the best run operations in the game.

You’d have to go back a long time to find Sydney sides that weren’t competitive at the very least.

No way do we need a rebuild or a clean out. The new coach has a LOT to work with, with a great bunch of 19 - 25 year olds, some experienced players who are elite, and a handful of players who could be traded to freshen things up. I would love someone to hit the ground running.

Definite experienced coach considerations - Simpson.

Definite new coach considerations - Basset, Enright, Hickmott, Bruce.

Nathan Basset appeals to me. He was outstanding at Norwood and found success quickly. However, if he is part of the current messaging he may be a part of what we need to freshen up. I'm a bit conflicted on this.

But I do think we need to let go Alan Richardson, Chocco Williams and possibly Troy Chaplin. They have been outstanding servants of our club and its recent success, but I personally believe they are a part of our current lethargy. (This is all pure outsider opinion, I have no real knowledge about any of them).

And on another note, will it mean a new Captain? Gawn has been a central part of the Goodwin messaging - do we change this as well?

Looks like Horse is our number one priority. I like this a lot.

So we want to replace a team with clear psychological issues with a coach who oversaw multiple brain melting crumbles on the biggest stage of all?

Honestly, how would anyone know who is at the top of the list?

It’s not even 12 hours since Goody’s sacking.

Whilst possibly unpleasant to process what we are seeing today is the result of of much deliberation and consideration. Another part and somewhat prerequisite would be .... well if not Simon, who ?

I can only imagine some calls were made sounding out these options. It would be a little naive i think to think no one has been giving this any thought at all. Despite the utterance , " we're now looking for a coach " .. they've a number ( specifically) in mind.

I bet you there's a list and obviously there'll be someone on top..... even now.

Just my thoughts
