Robert Walls predicted the Eagles to collect the spoon in 2018.

If he were Jeff Kennett he would take credit for motivating Adam Simpson to prove him wrong.

Right? The posters calling for his sacking got what they so badly wanted yet they continue to disparage him. But I suppose it’s to be expected on this site. I’m just wondering when it will taper off, if ever.

Idk who our next coach will be but already I feel sorry for him.

Hey Ghosty - FWIW, this site is pretty tame compared to others. so you can image how toxic they are!

Which is why I steer clear of those other sites.

I recently asked a DL-er who’s been on here way longer than I have if this site has ever been worse than it is now. He said during the dark times (Neeld era etc.) it was very bad but in terms of personal attacks, sniping at one another and just generally being a nasty person, now is an all-time high.

I love Dennis Denuto as my new nom-de-plume. Perfect vibe for 'Land. Why? Well, let’s face it — clueless, inept, and prone to making things up on the spot pretty much sums up the many posting styles on Demonland. Denuto may not win many cases, but he’s loyal, well-meaning, and always ready to argue “the vibe,” even when he hasn’t quite read the fine print. It feels like a perfect fit.

Now, on to the big one — Goodwin’s sacking.

Look, I mean, I don’t want to get all technical here, but it’s just… wrong. It’s the vibe. It’s the list, it’s the culture, it’s the synergy, it’s the… the magnets on the whiteboard. It’s Mabo. It’s justice. And yeah, maybe Goody didn’t always get the structures right, but you don’t just boot the bloke because of a bad vibe. Or do you? Anyway… the point is: I rest my case.

Me too. 'Land is the least insane place to hang. So well done andy @Demonland .

I would say they haven’t.

Wanna go around in circles some more?

Yet you still come back every day for more....

🤣

Social media is going downhill badly. X (Twitter) in particular is unbearable. Free speech, as Musk thinks it is, is just full of the stupid people believing stupid things. It's all negative too and of course everyone having a go at everyone and everything.

Facebook is all about blaming the council for everything.

Humans have a negativity bias where individuals tend to focus more on negative information and experiences than positive ones.

Demonland is very good in comparison, though personal attacks, in any form are completely unacceptable and unnecessary.

Treat others how you would like to be treated.

How about the premiership coach who potentially thinks Melbourne can win the whole thing next year?!

Which one? The dial-a-quote based in Hawaii?

It's all good, mate. I don't know much about you but there are plenty on here who are only happy when they've got something to complain about.

I’m hearing that the Swans are talking to Simon about a Senior Assistant role and there is genuine interest.

that was on one of the shows / podcasts yesterday too; interest from both sydney-based clubs due to goodwin's wife being based up there

bloods went into 2025 a coach short, so will be looking to beef up their footy department

I’d read something about GWS in the media, but this mail comes directly from a Sydney assistant coach that thinks it will happen.

I would bank it that he'll be working for one of those clubs in the near future.

Tough call for him between moving to be with his wife and leaving his kids.

You'd assume it happens sooner rather than later

Definitely a tough call, his son is around 17?

Hope it all works out for them.

Spoke to a very well connected Swans supporter this morning who said that too.

Swans regard Goody as a very good “Strategist”

This cannot be accurate. The Demonland brains trust and this very thread says so.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
