Does this impact Spargo's compensation?

Not if it’s a trade, which it seems like it may be.

You'd think so. That might be why the AFL didn't announce the Spargo compensation yesterday.

Spargo for Mihocek is a nice swap.

Looks like Mihocek will be a trade and maybe we'll still get some compo for Spargo?!

Pies have a few academy and at least one F/S - I'm thinking it will be a pick in this years draft.

We also don't seem to think, White or Sinnema will be taken in the national draft, more likely rookie.

Unsure if this is a good get or not....

We shall see. 33yo before next season, peak past him, 192cm, but can lead. If we were in a window, sure, but think we've set our sights low here. We can top up his superannuation I suppose.

How good to have a player coming rather than going.

I feel like Twomey was looking for extra words there to beef it up… he’s heading there and informed them he will

I would expect this will be announced today.

Good get mate.

Great move, perfect replacement for Brown, very excited.

Not exactly Merrett or Curnow but he was a pretty decent player. Hopefully he still can be. Good luck check.

Destination club. 😉

I think this allows us to extend the time in years left for Melksham, Play one or the other, perhaps both against certain other players, I doubt they will both play every game in 2026. BM was my hope 3 months ago, reading stuff later not so sure, but we have what we have.

And it will not be 1.3m for 4 years, Better than a pick 72 in the draft.

I don't mind it.

Petty can return to defence and it takes the pressure off JVR and Jefferson.

As long as we don't bomb it on his head and actually kick it to him out on a lead, we might have a good one here.

Him and Melky can help teach the younger brigade on the field.

Petty can go back.

Low risk move

I thought we got him a few seasons too late in his career but I hope he is serviceable and delivers. Aside from Melksham we haven’t had a forward with fair dinkum attack on the ball for a long time. We will get that from Mihocek I am sure.

Welcome Brody, we need your smarts!

Fast track our forwards, teach them craft, you will be loved around here....just continue to perform like you have your entire career and we may even forget you played for Collingwood, and you are purely "ours".

You are yet to meet @Ghostwriter but I am sure she will explain how things are now! You are ours!!

I have a different 'take' on Lewis. I don't think he played particularly well.

Understatement. One of the most bizarre top 5 finishes in a B&F I've seen in my 35 years supporting the club.

Believe his off field standards are very good as well. Who’d have thought … Collingwood!

One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
