Not sure people are aware but Clarry is playing his 200th this week.

One of the best to don the red and blue i sending my warmest wishes in his milestone game. 👏❤️🏆🥇

Sorry I'm mistaken, He's played 198 as of last round against Norf.

AFL tables have Clarry down for 199 already, its actually his 199 this week sorry for the balls up.

I'm laying this squarely at the feet of AFL tables.

Apologies.

Melk played a blinder that night!

Kicked four goals and took that cracking mark in the final minutes to bring the margin to within a goal.

… AND it was Melk who, from the bottom of the pack, fed the ball out to Koz for that incredible winning goal.

This week is an away match for us. Anyone who’s looking to sit near the cheer squad please note we’ll be in Bay M33 (Ponsford Stand).

OUT: Me - attending a concert.

Will be checking my phone regularly, think i still have PTSD from attending the last 3 games where we lost by a combined 7 points.

But this week IS Clarrie’s 200th. You were right the first time 👍🏽

And barring anything unforeseen, the following week is Maysie’s 250th 🎉🥳

Petty can come back through the reserves.

Our talls were all serviceable and May would be next in line to get a call up potentially of the expense of Lever.

Would be an absolute joke now if one of JVR or Jeffo lose their spot to Petty

Slightly ahead of myself, but just saw Melk is 8 games away from 250, so hopefully he gets another contract for next year. Unfortunately, he played 114 games for Essendon, so Frankie, Teddy and Alfie would be eligible for them for Father/daughter and father/son as well as us (which was the main reason for me checking his games played stat)...

I think the question really is does Melk wanna go around again next year? But I also think the answer is yes. I hope so, anyways.

I reckon his beautiful kids would choose us over Essendon coz Essendon 😅

This is not the game to drop Lever. He is suited to the Blues style of football. I’ll back him to have a solid game.

I don't 100% agree with this. Lever has looked really slow and isn't a good man-on-man defender. The Blues are more of a contest-style team, which doesn't suit him. I'd have TMac, May and Petty ahead of him. Possibly Adams too, for a debut.

I heard he has already asked for another contract. We should throw in forward line coach or at least kicking coach with it.

I've changed my mind again on these team changes, before Howes concussion we trusted him to be our 3rd key tall and he deserves the same opportunity again.

In: Howes, May, Spargo/Billings

Out: TMAC, Lever, Sparrow

I'm sorry but you can't drop TMac after his game last week. Would be a travesty of justice if Goody does.

He’s also said he’s missing out on a lot of family stuff. He said his son Teddy has played 10 games of footy and he’s only been to watch two of those and that that’s something he’d like to change. But I can’t see him knocking back another contract.

His kids would only know him as a Melbourne player and that is where their loyalties most likely lie.

No WORSE than that... if Petty gets a game in front of our future then we are in diabolical state, both ROO and JEFFO starting to play with some synergy and starting to show something, Melky in "Stellar" form and I thought Frittas game higher up the ground a revelation... Petty is not a forwards bootlace! PREMIERSHIP defender and thats where he should play.... OR NOT AT ALL!

Blues missing 10 best 22 players

This should not be close

But who knows?

Not to mention that Melksham wouldn’t have the fondest memories of his time at Essendon. Robbed him of an entire year of football and god knows what else.

I would say he and Hibbo, while appreciating Essendon for giving them a start, are both Melbourne thru and thru.

Petts is only 25yo. He IS our future, along with the other young players.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
