I know this will go against what most think is right for where we are at.

In Campbell, TMac, Billings, Laurie.

Out: Petty, Howes, Sparrow, Sharp

Fritsch as sub.

Campbell and Gawn to offer a long target when not in ruck. Old Man TMac to play on Old Man Walker. Billings and Laurie may not be the future but their VFL form warrants selection and they have endurance and polish. There will be better development opportunities later in the season if warranted for players.

I suspect we will reintroduce JVR, Lever and Windsor but that would be wrong.

Let JVR gain touch at VFL. Let Windsor get a clear month developing his midfield role. Let Lever show he can actually add value defensively.

The most uninspiring comments that this topic has seen for a long, long time

I suppose Fritsch and Sparrow (Drink Card Boy) will hold their spots

What are you asking me about?

Tom (Drink Card Boy) Sparrow’s form?

I don't get the reference to a drinks card. Clearly I'm missing a simple explanation here. Which you can give in the next response :)

Petty & Howes, and in the last 5 minutes, Turner was hobbled and could not move. It could get worse.

Here's an idea, play JVR at CHB and play a 2nd ruck who can relieve Max and not make either Jeffo or JVR go anywhere near the ruck. Play Verrall and let us see what he's got. Kentfield showed a bit up forward, and before this showed something down back. Only BIllings showed enough to deserve a game

Windsor has lost all confidence and couldn't get a kick at Casey so no point bringing him in. I'd like to see Kentfield played on a wing in the same way most sides have a tall wing who drifts forward for goals. He is mobile and athletic.

JVR/Johnson for Petty. TMac for Howes - should never have been dropped

No point looking at casey for replacement midfielder for Viney if suspended. The best Casey midfielders were casey players. Probably use Langdon as the extra mid.

Wouldn't mind Culley as the sub.

We've got to get some more hardness. That first quarter was embarrassing. When we ramped up the pressure we won the last 3/4's.

Outs. Petty and Howes concussion

Viney and May should definitely NOT get suspended for their actions. Ainsworth got up immediately. May gets the ball.

JVR replaces Petty (need as a marking option and 2nd ruck)

TMCD replaces Howes ( Dees need Turner, May and Tmcd to counter Fogarty, Walker & Thilthorpe )

That’s it !!! Play the kids again Jeffo, Kolt, Langford , Lindsay

Lever had a stinker in the VFL. He has lost any aerobic ability to run to the contest. I think his ankle issues are ongoing unfortunately

No one else at Casey demands a promotion. Kentfield & Mentha are still developing

@Demonland

Mcvee May Tmcd

Rivers Turner Bowey

Langdon Trac Lindsay

Fritsch JVR Chandler

Koooozzzzzyyyy Jeffo Melksham

Gawn Oliver Viney

Salem Langford Sharp Kolt

Sub Sparrow

Well, young ‘un, a long time ago when the VFL ruled and Fitzroy existed, players would frequent night clubs and be given free drink cards - thus, by equivalence, the only thing that Tom Sparrow brings to this team is that he is the conduit that gets players free drinks everywhere he goes!

Cheers 🍻

Tipping possibly 5-6 changes this week, all of them forced!

May can still win the ball but is too loose in a lock down on a good key forward. Free him up.

What do you mean “accepted”?

We don’t get a choice.

We also get what we deserve when we had sub-20,000 crowds in the last 2 months of last year.

If our crowds drop off further in the last 2 months of this year, expect more of the same for our 2026 fixture.

Collingwood would never have accepted 3 interstate trips in a row. There would have been an uproar. This is unprecedented and the only reason it's been deemed ok is because we just don't have the power of a big club to push back

I think our media game is poor

We could be leaking to the media from the president about how Pooh it is when it’s released and unnamed sources will be meeting with the afl to change it

We are too nice

We are not a serious club

Hasn’t he done well on Walker in the past?

Isn’t that kind of what St. Kilda have been doing and everyone is criticising them for it?

Petty and Howes miss with concussion.

JVR comes back because there's no one else.

Lever's the better fit but whilst TMac's struggling at Casey, he at least was doing well in the AFL before he was dropped.

Ironically, despite our injury list and run with fitness/injuries this year being as good as it's ever been, other than Windsor and JVR who just got dropped, possibly the only players on our list I really want to see get back into the side are AWM, McAdam and Sestan, who are the only actually injured players we have.

Instead, what do we do - make Laurie the sub again? Give Woewodin, Brown or Culley a game off middling (at best) VFL form? Billings?

How about play Lauries for a full game and give him a look in the midfield? It’s where he plays at Casey?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
