Is there going to be another Silence of the Lamb or could it be Lamb on the spit? Perhaps he will end up as a Lambington and we will drink Lambrusca. Or perhaps he will pull the wool over the King's eyes.

Interesting in that it confirms that Jason Taylor is very much part of List Management and Trade. Which we knew already, but still ...

Presumably also confirms the List Management committee as Lamb, Taylor, Richardson, with perhaps someone from admin, David Chippindall who's COO?

Footy can be tough.

Zak Jones played some good footy this year, including against us and has been delisted.

Casey Demons need to pickup the phone !!! Be nice to see him finally play at the Demons

I made disparaging remarks about Lamb a week, or two, ago. Not so much about his historical performance during trade week, as I've often thought it's been good, more-so, as a recent assessment of contracts and list management decisions.

I think he's (they've) done a great job this period under the circumstances.

The point I really wanted to make though is that every person in a job makes mistakes. It's the experience of those mistakes that can be invaluable. Lamb is better positioned to make list assessment strategies now than he's ever been. Experience is invaluable, and he has it in spades. And he's never struck me as being stupid.

Was King in the room? Or do the coaches not participate in this?

A couple of nuggets for me out of some of the social media content recently.

1) Richo is quite involved and I just wonder whether he could be ying to King's yang. He didn't seem to work as the nice guy to Goody's nice gut, but if King is a bit of a hard [censored] and Richo is the good cop, they might just work nicely together.

2) There is a quote from Guerra that strongly implies that Lamb was not happy with the state of the list. I find this very intriguing given he's been at the helm the whole time. It suggests to me that he wasn't happy with some moves and was potentially overruled. Guerra said: "It's a reset, as you said it's hard to farewell a couple of champions, but I think it sets the club up. As Tim (Lamb) has been demanding of us, to make sure that we put the club in a better position. I think at the end of 7.30pm today, the club will be in a better position."

3) I haven't noticed King in any of this content. Goody would often feature. It's not necessarily a good or bad thing. But I wonder if King is very much about trusting the list management team to do their job and leaving them to it. Or whether there's actually been a conscious decoupling between list management and the wider FD during the trade period.

Coaches aren't required to attend these live trade events. You must be thinking of the draft nights where Goodwin has sat in on them. I presume King will do the same come next month.

The only coach that attended on the night was Ross Lyon purely because he is also looking after head of football.

Sam Mitchell for instance was in America on a PD trip.

I have no doubt King would have been doing a lot of interviews in the background with the likes of CJ and Steele leading up to final day of trade.

I don't think the CEO is or has been on the List Management Committee.

I suspect he was there because of the names we had on the trade table, not every day you trade out your golden boys.

Also perhaps to get a feel for it as he's new. But who knows ...
