Brad Green says “you’re welcome.”

Hope y’all don’t mind but I thanked him on everyone’s behalf for his tweet.

Hi Ghostwriter did any of the usual training reporters turn up at Gosh’s today? Also how was Matty Jefferson looking, he looked ok in the training gallery yesterday.😁👍

They all came out as a group (Casey MFC, and tomorrow's squad), filing from AAMI.

Fairly subdued atmosphere. The weather here is as good as it gets.

They gathered to present the family, with the kids who are running through the banner, their attire.

Some young ones ran a lap, a few saddled up behind mannequins and kicked for goal. May got around a group of kids who were invited onto the field in the area they banana goals from. He appeared unrestricted but most importantly, happy. The kids were the excited lot.

Clarry hanging out with Fritta again, kick to kick with some variations. At the end off training, he could be seen with his arm over the shoulder of another track watcher wandering towards AAMI. Appeared relaxed and happy.

JVR having discussions with Goody.

The "young ones" headed to the opposite side of the Paddock on the fence and hit bananas and miracle kicks for goal.

Jeffo was drilling with JVR as a trainer kicked easy high balls to them, after they ran the change of direction movement. Jeffo is looking more mature everytime I see him.

Tracc was kicking well for goal, as was Chandler who seemed to be challenging him.

Short session which had meaningless written all over it. I wonder how they will be on a Captain's run when the weather turns miserable.

The soccer ball was out, a few used the opportunity to show their Gaelic kicking skills for goal.

Jeffo looks great. No worries at all. He was in a happy and buoyant mood. Not a lot of training today but they all had so much fun, Jeffo included.

As an aside, re the Sharpy-bashing on here, or anywhere… I know, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but I find it sad because he’s so keen to do well, he’s dedicated, and Goody says he absolutely works his backside off. He’s always super positive, it’s infectious. He’s always smiling and whoever happens to be with him can’t help but be happy, me included. I told him it was good to see him brought on earlier in the game than usual and he beamed and said “I can’t wait for tomorrow!” Considering he’s likely to be the sub again, he was delighted.

I think Kolt might be the sub!

So keen to see JVR and Jeffo (especially Jeffo) get another game together, very interested to see how they go. I've warmed to Harry Sharp too he just seems like he's got such a good attitude and he can run and has some skills so as if that isn't something that we need!!?! I like him as the sub, he seems to be a pretty good sub and has been pretty effective when he comes in.

I was thinking this, but then I also thought he's probably the best to fit into Melkshams role

Can't see them asking kolt to play a defensive forward role. We need his up the ground lead ups, energy and creativity too much.

I think fritter plays melk's defensive forwardrole, or if not him, Sparrow (or perhaps a combo).

Big thanks to Ghostwriter, Kev Martin and all posters, sounds like a pretty laid back session. Hope that the boys are all fit and raring to go for the game tomorrow. Go Dees.😁👍

Sharp, i think, just needs more confidence / belief in his talents - he has the "Ricky Jackson's" about him to my eyes.

I reckon Kolt is doing alot right and is pretty close to having a breakout game. He does the team things really well and is staring to be a bit more dynamic with the ball. He is an important part of our forward half pressure which is so important in the modern game.

Sharp looked good when he came on last week. Perservere for a while to see him reproduce that consistently

Sharp's either been a starting sub or subbed out in the last 5 games.

Surely it comes to a point where he needs a full game in the seniors or at Casey?

Yes, Ricky Jackson Mark II. Might even be a little quicker, as well. More experience, more support from the team, could be a slasher roving up forward. A good memory was how Strawbs used to tap down to Ricky in the fwd line for an instant goal. Maybe, in his forward play, Gawny and Sharpie could come to some arrangement or instant call to do the same? Love to see it happen.

Apologies for the late report.

Absent: Viney, Lever, Melksham, Hore, Petty and Mentha

Clayton always does more voluntary running at these sessions than others. He and Fritta are tight.

Longish one-on-ones between Goody and Jeffo.

I agree with Picket that Tholstrup will likely be the sub to give Sharp a fair crack. Wouldn't think it would be Jeffo, Turner or Windsor, the other three from the 5 interchange.

Cheers Harvey,

Did you sight Billings and Woewodin. Listed as outs for the VFL squad.

His turn of speed when he scooped up the loose ball inside 50 and powered away from the Eagles defenders was very impressive.

They were both there. Laurie, Howes and Johnson listed as AFL emergencies. Maybe Billings and Woewodin are carryovers for the AFL with the other three named in the VFL team.

I see Sharp as hopefully having an ANB type evolution to his development. He has similar skill set and as @Ghostwriter says, has that infectious energy and desire to put his head down and be part of the team.

If he keeps at it, he's another of those hard-working high half forwards who can hit the scoreboard (to go alongside Chandler) who @binman wants a few more of.

Still only 22, so definitely upside and being the sub would be giving him some nourishment for effort.

He's an interesting watch for mine.

I must admit I had forgotten about Woewoden, he showed so much promise early, would be good to see him kick on again.
