12.2. It's hard to believe.

Good kicking is good football.

Wow, we're in front and losing the free kick count 9 to 18.

Just great to watch us really competing and pressuring hard.

Keep the foot down boys.

4 qtrs please

Bowey has been great & so efficient with the ball

Koltyn has provided a target and getting under the skin of a few freo players

Kozzie playing well

Petty wow genius to put him forward

Loving the run

Suns out, the G looks great & we're leading at half time

Hopefully we can keep it going

All I have ever wanted with this team is that they are competitive. This is the first time I have seen this for a long time.

Nice to see we’ve remembered how to play footy.

Enjoyed Fullarton’s game so far. I don’t think he’s much of a marking tall but he gets involved in general play. I still think JvR is the long term answer but he hadn’t given a yelp, and if he’s not taking marks he does nothing.

Bowey’s been great so far. Best on for mine.

The week I trade Petty out of my Supercoach...

Great improvement across the park, so good to see. Langford and Lindsay starting to look at home, Tholstrup catching up to the pace of the game, Fullarton a few errors but is playing a role.

2 things are importantly better: our transition from D50 to F50, and our forward system. Oh, and add our 82% disposal efficiency - doesn't hurt either.

Howes and Turner doing really well.

Amazing how much better things work when everyone brining effort first. Just need to see if they can keep it up as I don’t expect freo will give up

ABC radio commentators: no Kozzie is not auditioning for Freo. He’s a Melbourne player so please STFU

I look forward to the Is Petty a forward or backman discussion this week.

Like old El Paso - why not have both :.)

I want to see this hunger for the rest of the game and season!

No BS about love ins and hugging i want Thunder and brute force.

Interesting - apparently we've come out and had 4 goals (from centre bounce clearance?) in a half. We've only done that 3 times in ten years according to Fox Footy?

Typo

I'm watching from Puku bar in Ha Noi. I have to leave for my cousins wedding in 45 minutes so I'll miss the end but I'm loving this performance so far!

Is Disco of injured??

Well, this is an unexpected moment to be reminded of my ex.

Heard on radio he was having concussion assessment

Petty's efforts to not be out marked has been pretty awesome. His move forward has actually worked very well for Melbourne

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
