Gonna enjoy our 2 goals in the second half.

50 years of this [censored]. Tell me some of our senior players are trying. They looked apathetic when they run through the banner. They no the team is cooked. Trac and Oliver don’t want to be there the whole thing stinks

Can we be the first team ever to sack a coach at half time.

Take your [censored] game plan and [censored] off Goodwin

These last two weeks have been the worst of his coaching career. 6 smalls up forward is insanity

At the match , it’s even worse live. A complete and utter shambles. Woeful skills . Players who look dispirited and lost . I think Goodwin has to take responsibility for this mess.

Well I have finally got there, Goodwin's game plan and direction isn't getting through. He has to go

There's a reason our crowds are poor.
Just awful football to watch.

We have freo next week at the g Saturday afternoon. Won't even get 20 thousand

This is actually heartbreaking. I used to get so mad watching this team during the Bailey, Neeld and Roos years. I've calmed down a lot. I am not even angry at this. Just heartbroken. This is the most boring, insipid football I have wayched in a while.

Who knew that when you play one key forward who is only 193cm you won’t take F50 marks…. Oh that’s right every demon supporter and person other than the coaches.

Hmmm 16 points in nearly a half of footy. I think we might have a serious problem scoring? (Among other problems, ofc)

Also, oof, getting ugly. Already. Again.

I actually cannot fathom how poorly we are playing. The effort* (for the most part) is there but the execution, my god.

*Certain players excepted, Petty being the main offender for mine. Send him to the VFL

How does Petty drop that mark. Our skills are just so poor.

I’ve seen enough. We weren’t this bad even in the 80’s. The coach has lost this team. Hiss off Goodwin you’ve made us look like a laughing stock. TV off!

This is the best way to put it.

Exactly how I feel. Just really sad.

I've watched every game so far except the Blues/Eagles. All entertaining games, we are just so boring to watch.

Nothing has changed moving the ball inside 50.

This could get real ugly in the second half.

They have to stand up and fight the whole way tonight in the second half.

I would say the opposite. Our skills are not that poor. Decision making or great. But we are not working hard enough at all

18 more weeks of this debacle. Are we officially in crisis? Goodwin must go now!

I didn't buy the love in stuff for a second. This place is rotten .

WAHOO GO DEES.

FFS ITS TIME FOR CHANGE.

Thank god Eagles are in it. Maybe our only win for year.

Yeah maybe you're right, it just seems like we are just butchering it again and again especially going inside 50. Who the hell would want to play forward in this team.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
