good job we're not playing a decent team tonight or we would be beaten out the gate.

i'm not looking forward to our tough run of fixtures starting with hawthorn w8

Ed Langdon might not be playing quite like he did in 2021 but can't fault his effort and commitment tonight.

I just rewatched the Cats game v. us.

We played much better than I remembered ( for 3 quarters).

We lost by 39 points on their dungheap, then they’ve done well against a “ hot” Adelaide in hostile conditions, which makes our effort seem not so bad.

Dees by 11 ( pray!)

On the contrary, if he’s not gone by then he hopefully will be after.

i'm a perceptive supporter not a 'die hard' because why would i die hard when they persisted with Goodwin when it was clear that he was not allowing the best of our players. we recruited Nate Jones of all people to coach, with no coaching credentials, purely on sentiment, and we arguably did the same with Brad Green.
When we had Roffey who was a great President because she offered something different. Green and Jones are Fanboys and they are not football intellects wide-armed person people (as Roffey was).

I don't wish to pile [censored] on Melbourne, but I'm trying to have a perceptive and critical discussion about it.

Unfortunately for you I have developed a soft spot for Collingwood because even though many of they're supporters are horrible, the club has a spirit that wouldn't allow pure sentiment to cloud their vision for their prosperity and the welfare of the players.

That being said, my line of reasoning is much more caring to our players than supporters who just say "great we have Nate Jones coaching and Goodwin still there, fantastic!" without seeing how catastrophic this has been for the welfare and prosperity of kids like Petracca and the younger echelon of Rivers etc. who are trying to live full and unhindered footballing careers

You Go Away, youve probably got no guts to stand up for what this club needs.

Agree go away

Our list profile on paper may very well be “past it” in terms of premiership contention, but we should NOT be uncompetitive to this extent.. We should be a 7-10 side.

Failure on all fronts not just the coaching and football department setup.

We are unwatchable, bottom 4 for sure this season .

Coach absolutely has to go now.

Can we be the first team ever to sack a coach at half time.

Take your [censored] game plan and [censored] off Goodwin

There's a reason our crowds are poor.
Just awful football to watch.
Even when we were winning.

Oliver has checked out

How did we win a flag with most of this group? I am convinced the game has passed Goodwin, Richardson, Williams, and Selwin Griffiths. The team has gone backwards at a rate of knots and there is not one glimmer of hope in sight. It's time to cut the head off the snake and get whatever draftpicks we can at the end of the season. This has been a pathetic effort.

Goodwin game plan - bomb into the forward line so that JVR, that superstar in the making, can drop it, fumble it or some other display that demonstrates he has never been up to AFL standard. Or pacey not! Spargo handballs to an opposition player. Or Fritsch fumbles. Either way the ball soon ends up in the opposition defence and they attack and end up scoring a goal at the other end.

If that isn’t the plan then why is the coach continuing to play these players?

Either way - senior coach should be gone by the end of the weekend.

On a positive note, we are winning the free kicks.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
