The Saints have added a bit of toughness around the ball plus the run and gun has another pre-season under the belt.

They look pretty good.

easy to forget that the aints were in finals in 2023, losing an elimination final at home (well, the mcg) to gw$ before having a shocking start to 2024

their transition football is fun to watch

I really like the current Saints team. Skills and composure way ahead of ours, though that’s not saying much.

Loving the aints win... Ross Lyon astute coach, DOESN'T SUFFER FOOLS gladly, I met him once, sized me up pretty quickly and I went away liking the man! has respect of the team, has good structures in place, and a great coaching dialogue. Swears a bit though!

Freo on Easter Saturday might be a significant event for the club.

Could be worse than last year if we don’t find some form quickly.

Scary to think that they beat us by 15 goals last year when we were still a semblance of a competent side.

Top 5 ball winners today for GWS, wouldn’t be many wasted possessions between them - what a glorious luxury.

This one is far worse, as Greene looked at Owies before tunnelling him and then Owies is completely upended, landing on his head. This was extremely dangerous. Greene could have pulled out.

Now the old boys are saying “what could Toby have done”? Pulled out for a start.

This is the difference in the media.

Fritta canned and people looking for a suspension and with Toby, trying to get him off.

I [censored] hate the media and tribunal

Gus. Oh, Gus. My heart is still rent in twain.

I would hope that Brad Gwen and Steven Smith are putting together a very small committee to look at potential coaching and football staffing appointments.

Things are not right.

But it is what it is !

if we have no improvement in the next 8-10 games. Pull the trigger urgently. Not for this year but next. Need to have the next coach and JT and his team all using the same songbook.

Waiting until the last few games waste most of next year. Done that for at least 3 years treading water not going anywhere.

I do hope we can beat the bombers

But what about the in depth review ? Wasn't that supposed to fix things

They flicked Pert who wasn't the main problem probably Pert was trying to highlight the real problems and got the boot instead

Yes you might be right. Unless we/ you are part of the “inner circle”. We are never going to know, and then if it’s put up on here, someone will say it’s only heresay and you/ we are making it up. Fake news has a lot to answer for, and never takes responsibility. But if sure seems things have been “crook” for a while. All the time sayings things are fine.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
