Gawn averages more disposals, more marks, more contested marks (more contested marks than Xerri's general marks), more intercepts, more score involvements, contested possessions the same, the ruck stats are similar, ...

Xerri is a good player, but nowhere near as athletic as Gawn, or the all-rounder that Gawn is. I suppose the eye test is still underrated.

Anyway, I'm fascinated why Xerri has such a strong rating.

Here are my estimated equity values for Gawn and Xerri which underestimates tackles and pressure in general, so the advantage to Xerri for tackles would be greater. Otherwise, the clear difference is ball use where Xerri is rated higher in shots at goal and disposals (both pre- and post-clearance).

No, they definitely do. Contested possessions, including contested marks, are generally worth quite a bit. That's where Max has the edge with post-clearance possessions.

I get the sense he isn’t well liked by the playing group. Not sure if that is since he tried to leave last year or whether it’s been going on longer.

I don’t like to read too much into social media posts etc, but I have noticed over the past year or so that Petracca doesn’t post much about other players.

latest example being Gawn and Kozi being named in the AA Team. Most of the team reposted the MFC posts about this. Silence from Petracca. For a prolific social media user and one of the higher profile players on the team, it seems odd.

I know its very minor but I've noticed that too over the last year. Even a media branded "definitely gone" May posted both Gawny and Koz. Being a high user of Social Media and being the only one to not post this is very strange at the least in my eyes.

Trac's social media use is very different to the others. His is 100% about the brand, the business, how that makes him look, and even posts taht seem personal, like his dad helping him gardening, is all about building an image. It's far less a personal account than the other players.

It's not a criticism of him, it's just what he is focussed on and has chosen to use his social media for.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's not the one managing his insta account, would be his manager or media person etc

he can have his own strategy for social member. nothing wrong with that

but he can still acknowledge all Australian honours when his teammates earn selection. that won't interfere with his broader strategy

if he won an AA I'm sure his teammates would support him

Never used to be JUST this though, he would share everything club related pre King’s Birthday injury, that’s all stopped now

The weighting actually depends on where you take the mark as well. A contested mark taken in the goal square is worth a lot. The same mark taken at full back isn’t worth much.

I don't think his social media account is anything more than a branding exercise. It's all branded posts that are very specifically tied to his personal brand. I wouldn't read too much into it other than Christian probably ranks his marketability way higher than the general public does.

Maybe Tracc congratulated Kozzie and Gawn via sms, phone, Whatsapp etc.

We don't know so people shouldn't be so quick to criticise lack of instagram stuff.

tbh, sms, phone or Whatsapp are more pesonal than instagram or other social media.

And yes I would be shocked if Trac manages his own social media accounts. I bet my bottom dollar it's managed from a social media manager.

Robbo was interesting on the DeeBrief podcast.

He was continually open about the fact that he's well connected with the club and particularly Brad Green.

When asked about what he was looking forward to for 2025, (and he's bullish about 2025), one of the items he mentioned was:

"Can't wait for Harvey Langford to have another year with Max, Trac....*pause* not sure what's happening with Clarry to be honest"

Interesting that Robbo rattled of Trac's name for next year but had a pause with Clarry, as if to say "yep Trac's more likely to stay than Clarry."

Petracca manages his own social media account with the help from his wife with the cooking content and filming. He was on record in confirming this in a 360 interview last year.

Its all Petraccas work, there is no social media manager.

Well no, it hasnt..

She is still a lawyer that works from home and helps manages Petracca's cooking content on instagram as i already said. She will help edit the footage and usually takes enquiries if need.

Petracca manages his own instagram account. Thete os no social media manager for his personal account.
