Pretty obvious now that he did try and get out the door last year too. I’m not buying that he was trying to instigate change from within.

Surprised Nicolas Cage GIF

If they want him it just means posturing and holding your nerve to the last day of trade period. Keeping the Crows and Suns involved is a benefit

Also a game of blink.

Not quite a Dutch Auction... but sorta.

As long as at least 2 clubs are truly interested... then.... let the fun begin.

For the first few rounds it will be but then it will be fine.

I kind of dropped off him this year. Just felt his heart really wasn't there & disappointed in his skills at times.

He can go.

I understand, but it’s the opposite for me. I never liked him in the past and it’s only been this year that I’ve grown to like him a lot. That devastating injury changed him as a person.

Anyways, as everyone else has said, we only want players whose hearts are fully with and for us. This translates onto the field so it matters greatly.

I think a lot of ppl are only looking as far as the waves lapping the shore.

The 🎪 🤡 🎪 is only rehearsing at present. The top line acts have yet to get into the ring.

Dont be dismayed by the picks that are obvious and by that the ones clubs have currently... let the mind wander. Once trading really starts those magnets will be chucked around like a 5yo on the Rotor. Going to be more fun than the Mad Mouse after a thick-shake

It's not about deals that CAN be done today....its going to be the deals that are enabled .....later.

Of course many will be distraught by then... but thats all part of the show.

Pray continue....

It will be hard for anyone not to like the Gold Coast lifestyle. Hardwick will spin the deep in finals 'true story' to come.

They need another experienced player to complement the GC youngsters. The Lions had 11 players 22 or under in the GF. A fair number guns or 'guns to be'.

Fingers crossed its GC.

Just had a little squiz over on that "ontrac5" insta page: 543k followers and each post has engagement numbers of on average about 30 comments and maybe 10 shares. If I'm being generous.

That means only 0.0036% of his audience engages with his posts.

I smell BS on the legitimacy of those numbers and think his social media savy misses has cooked the books most of those followers are bought or bots 😂

There's something really iffy about a spouse whose actual job is full-time social media marketer of their partner.

"Honey, I need your nonna to come up with some trendier classic family recipes".

I'm a sperm donor too, ask your mother about that.

It's just banter my guy, no need to get personal.

I'm not personally happy that he's wanting to jump (a sinking) ship despite all the demands he made at the end of last year.

Is the ship really sinking though?

It may’ve been letting in a lot of water these past couple of years but I feel like it’s steadying now and will remain afloat.

If its flags that trac is after I reckon the suns are closer than the Crows

From Paul Guerra's first official Newsletter - 30/9/2025

We met with Christian late last week where he expressed his desire to explore a fresh start in 2026. Christian is contracted for a further four years and is a once in a generation player. With this in mind, any decision regarding Christian’s future will be made in the best interest of the Melbourne Football Club."

I feel our three biggest issues have been

  • Toxic culture and player behavior - This is being addressed, players leaving, moving on, refreshed coaching panel

  • Low crowd attendances - I believe this is part of why Goodwin was let go, we needed a new coach to generate excitement and play an attacking brand to get bums in seats

  • Home base - This is as close as it's ever been in the time i've been following the club

It might be sad to say goodbye to some players and we might go backwards before we go forwards but all the changes i can see seem to suggest to me the club has accurately identified the issues and they've set about correcting them properly, with hard decisions, good strategic moves and no shortcuts or fairytales

If we end up in the situation of getting Rachele (23 next year) and Flanders (25 next year) for Christian Petracca (30 next year), I think that's just good business.

Adelaides 1st and Rachele for Petracca and we on trade Adelaides 1st for Flanders.

Rachele was basically a 2 goal per game medium forward, who also wants to go through the middle (Wonder where he plays if Petracca comes in).

Flanders for a future 1st!?

He's ok but not worth a future 1st imho

Funnily enough, his fit with Gold Coast looks less than ideal which is why I think he favours a move to Adelaide. The Suns are stacked for mids but need to find more avenues to goal.

FWIW, on the couch both Brown and Buckley think Gold Coast is a better fit as Petracca can be more damaging up forward where the Suns are a bit light on and inexperienced. And as Buckley said, Adelaide need a big-bodied mid, but they need a better kicker.

I really dont mind the idea of Adelaide's first 3 draft picks 25, 26 and 27. I know we say we want a player but were going to get junk if its not Sam F. That's not helping.

Assuming Crows average 5th over the next 3 years, that equivalent of pick 6 and 8

Cameron went for 3 first rounders so maybe we need to kick back a 2nd rounder.

Having that draft capital in addition to our own if we do stay in the bottom 8 will make us be able to get to the real pointy end of upcoming compromised drafts.

Not to mention a 2 yr death ride sounds like an awful lot of fun.

Think what is most disappointing is that after all of this it’s very clear the modest ‘hide my Norm Smith medal because it’s not about individual awards’ Petracca was an aberration and what we’ve seen over the past two years is his actual character.

To be so openly selfish….he’s gotta go

Not unusual regarding Trac hiding his Norm Smith medal. Will Ashcroft removed his while walking back to the team after leaving the podium. Seems it’s the done thing by the winner.

This is exactly what I want to hear. If he goes, so be it, but we must be adequately compensated.

Same here!

But it requires a fan group to be equally demanding and realistic AND understanding if CP5 does stick around. Because the club let him explore his options but his club of choice couldn’t satisfy the demands of the club.

Too many are already making this so emotional that the club will struggle to keep the above stand with the pressure.

That is complete junk. By that time we will be struggling for wins, getting picks in who show promise and then request trades coz they are sick of losing? Sound familiar ? In what world is Trac worth second round picks?

He and Bont are so far in front of the league for score involvements over the past 5 years. Its literally daylight to 3rd.

He had the worst year of kicking in his career and still got 16 votes and top 10 for score involvements per game. Even the slightest regression to the mean (which is a certainty according to me) on his kicking will see him be an elite player again, at least for 2 more years. Sure he isnt the player that you necessarily need to make finals, but he is the player you need to make top 2 and win a GF. I think its a huge loss that will take years to recover from. I hope Im horribly wrong.

It well maybe the case. He was in ripping form until he had his NDE. Hell be 30 next year. Odds are stacked against him to see him regain let alone improve on form. The odds are even more against any of that if he remains at Melbourne.

It's fine.... we found a problem with the bilge pump. Our best ppl are working on it as I write.

Been some talk about too many lazing around on the poop deck but those at work in the focsle assure me we'll avoid the icebergs...

Some wally carping on about him being the King of the world or some such is hatching a plan.... all good 👍 😉
