It will be interesting to see how Petracca reacts to finding out he is worth Less than he thinks he is.

He can stand in line behind half of dland...

Don't think Trac would give two f's what clubs or supporters think he's worth in the trade market. He'll be getting millions regardless.

Exactly..

Correct. though i am sure he'll be hoping Melbourne and the Suns/Crows are close on his value as his fresh start depends on it.

Trac & his wife spend lots of time in Noosa, the change they are seeking is getting clearer, it’s a lifestyle change driving this I’d say & opportunity to play in finals with GC is a bonus just my opinion but football isn’t the number 1 priority.

Who is arguing the draft is not the most effective way? I am just saying you can get elite players without high picks (like Gawn, Harmes, McDonald, Bowey, Rivers, Neal-Bullen, Spargo, Jordan, Sparrow, Petty).

Only one of those guys is elite. The rest are role players. Bowey could become elite. So could Rivers.

That's the point.

Whereas our premiership list was driven by mostly first round draft picks: Oliver, Trac, Gus, May, Lever. They were all first rounders.

As were Salem and Pickett.

They wouldn't want to live there while he is playing. Noosa is a long way from the Gold Coast! Over 3 hrs one way, that'd be an awful commute to play/train.

There's about 200kms distance between Gold Coast and Noosa. It's about the same distance from Melbourne to Colac. Where would you rather be?

I am still really hopefully it'll be pick 6 and Sam Flanders for Trac essentially.

That would be the high end result and we'll all be patting Lamb on the back for that one.

Elliott sticks with the filth

Either means the Pies originally low balled Elliott or now don't have enough money to keep Mihocek.

If the former, that's a pretty scummy way to treat one of the stars of the 2025 season.

If the latter, then Mihocek's more likely now to be a Dee.

The idea of Trac joining the Suns is hilarious

Playing in front of 10K crowds

On a HF flank as he can’t break into their midfield

Those roads between gold coast and Noosa are an absolute shambles.

Average commute would be closer to 4 hours unless you travelled at night.

Anyways, they can get to Byron in 90 mins. That would suit them. Just named number 1 [censored] town in Australia

Right about Byron sadly. A town full of lost souls.

Shocking human being.

Hates Melbourne with a passion.

That’ll be why Trac is now flying to GC17 for a face to face

You'd think that this would make GC even keener to get Petracca.

He and Trac will get along great then 😬

Dimma's pitch to Trac will be that, if he comes to GC, he will turn Trac into another Dusty.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
