Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

Pick 14 plus Josh Rachele who is a good lad from Melbourne’s old Country zone in the Goulburn Valley League. He previously played for the Murray Bushrangers and the Shepparton Swans Football Club.

Trac has given us great service and his time is up with us. I wish him luck! His currency will be high still, so cash in whilst we can.

Shame he has no morals

I just can’t understand pushing him out in what is effectively a fire sale or a swap of picks that nets us Flanders. Is the relationship that far gone that we have no option but to trade now.

I think we need to make something very clear, WE are not the ones pushing this. Petracca and his extended entourage are.

King would rather keep him. But you can’t keep walking back thru a door you keep wanting to slam shut behind you.

If Trac is STILL not happy after we replaced nearly the entire management team of the club, then he never will be, and you can’t drag along a $1.3mil child kicking and screaming.

He is within his rights to want a fresh start, and we are within our rights to want one too, without players whose heart is no longer with us.

That doesn’t mean we accept whatever rubbish deal we get given.

Trouble is, if a deal can't be made and he stays, will we be going through all this again in 365 days?

Pre ordered his cook book in the hope Mr 6yo might expand his eating repertoire.

And TODAY is when the money comes out of my account. Get stuffeeeddddd

Unfortunately I think so.

However you never know what magic King can bring

Dog.

I think we will get 14 (and maybe a 3rd) and a F1, for Trac.

Not sure about the salary $.

Then trade 14 (and maybe the 3rd?) for Flanders.

Leaves us with Flanders, Crows F1 and cap space for next year.

Oh yeah, and we can Death Ride the Crows all year.

Feels about right. Not sure 14 + 3rd rounder would get Flanders done though if the Saints are offering 7

Don’t understand his logic.

Media said “anything to say” or similar and he responded “I don’t think this is the time or place to discuss” or similar. I’m paraphrasing.

If he didn’t want to be spotted by media, why would you fly.

Wouldn’t you simply get in a car, and take a trip.. surely.

Let's hope he prefers GC. We will be bent over if he goes to the Crows.

At least the GC have a good hand to deal with plus a pick 7 for Flanders.

If he stays, let's hope so. Otherwise we may have a uninterested player who doesn't mind if his trade value goes down in a year since a trade would be easier as a result. It's all very well to talk about professionalism ensuring maximum effort at all times, but there is always an element of something more around committment and passion.

Actions are speaking louder than words here, if he didn't want to be under the spotlight log onto Zoom.

I actually thought it was media BS. That’s def not a holiday to the Barosssa trip.

No one goes on holiday to Adelaide so it's not looking good...

Club needs to stay firm & dictate terms, not the other way around and say no and hold him to his contract! About time these players honour what they sign!

Have him sit in the VFL for the next four years.

Jaded, the only thing we haven't changed is that we have hung onto Clarrie. Do you think that the thing that has [censored] Trac off the most is the pandering to Clarrie by the Club over the last couple of years?

A few rib ticklers?

I’m not going to believe that he’s in Adelaide and meeting with the Crows until I hear it from Christian himself…

But in all seriousness, we’re not going to get anything that fans will deem satisfactory for him. What I don’t understand is how Curnow is supposedly worth an A grader when we’ll get 2 x pick 20.

He’s a super immature 30 year old sook who thinks he should be a leader but is mentally fragile. Get rid while we can get anything and clear his salary off our books.

Media like Carlton. We are the dog [censored] on someone's shoe in their eyes.

The team can’t stay in its current format, change is required. The only way to change is to trade and draft and players with currency, help this along. I love Trac and he is a star but not irreplaceable

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
