That mark had a touch of Leo Barry about it.

And I don't think anyone but Melbourne supporters appreciate how rare a Simon Godfrey right-foot goal really is!

It was an awesome goal though.

Yep, I saw the resemblance to Barry's mark. It was a ripper that Greeny took.

And that Godders goal was unbelievable. Just a magnificent moment in the game, made more amazing by the fact that it was nearly 50 metres out!! And I loved his celebration too!

frasers dud mark on carroll also nominated

looked like a good strong mark until you watch the replay closely and see it touched carrols arm first...

MELBOURNE GETS ROBBED OF MOTYS AND GOTYS EVERY BLOODY year

we are lucky to have a team like we do which has the best highlights of most sides in the AFL...

just a few times weve been robbed...

Woey robed of GOTY by his own teammate farmer 1998

Robbo robbed of MOTY everyyear since he played the game..

Yze robbed of MOTY LAST (geelong game) year AND 2 years before that WAY BETTER mark over the top of a few sydney guys than stupid mcPharlins superman mark

Davey Robbed of GOTY last year by edward betts...

Yze robbed of GOTY this yer by dustin fletcher.... (best goal i have ever seen by yze)

didnt even get goal of the round

its a popularity contest... Green is up against FRASER dont bother voting...

last year it had some crediabilty when its experts had their say, and the fans...

Yeah, you could see how cut he was being out marked by a bloke he had in a bear hug.

From someone who doesn't barrack for either Collingwood or Melb, Frasers mark was a ripper, and should win MOTW.

But BrownlowBruce makes a valid point. Some excellent nominations are missing out cos they are up against inferior Goals/Marks performed by players from popular teams [Coll & Ess for example].

Not sure I agree with every instance listed [Farmers goal was better than Woewodins in 1998, and Melbourne can't be robbed if the award goes to one of their players  ], but defiantely Dustin Fletcher should not have won the Round 4 nomination this year in front of Adem Yzes goal against Fremantle.

Having said of all that, I'll be voting for Jason Laycock this week.

Frasers was very ..so -so..nothing spesh.. a good mark..but thats all.

Green is impressing..he's really stepped up a bit ( well as has half the team )

Green is almost making htis style of mark a trademark.. well ok.. but two weeks running he's pulled off clinchers by going back into a pack at height , which is really another way of saying...this could really really hurt !!.

Kudos to the fella..well done :-) keep it up.

He took a few in a similar fashion last year too.

didnt get robbed... i guess, but i woulda liked to see woey win as he took the ball himself the whole feild....

and farmer got MOTY that year as well

As much as I dislike the Pies and that overrated 200cm marshmallow, Fraser, I thought his mark under pressure in the goal square was first class.

Green's two marks in the last quarter were good stabilising marks from a player that has matured much in the past year and is not often credited for the hard in and under work he does.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
