Collingwood +20 contested possessions, +4 clearances, lost by 52 points.

But they also only had 36 tackles for the game.

They say when Collingwood is involved they sell more papers but that means more paper for the budgie cage bottom.

This is the team that deserves the bottom of my chooks’ indoor accommodation…

My brother buys the H/S (please pray for him 🤭) and brings them to mine every week. He’s a Carlton supporter but our unholy hatred for Essendon bonds us like nothing else. When he visits he checks the coop and it’s never not funny.

Kane Cornes this morning: “Good morning, there is no rest, we push through and we don’t need pickle juice” 🤣

Don’t understand why he is so divisive. He’s genuinely hilarious in the way he winds people up.

Absolutely ridiculous they halted play for the protected species. Would Oliver be afforded such luxury? Club and player can go and get f-cked

Cats are playing in 35oC next week

Forget the pickle juice, bring the Medical Examiner!

Yes the pies looked bad but the Giants looked absolutely elite. Finn Callaghan looks superhuman out there (cough cough ASADA cough cough).

Not dancing on Collingwood's grave until I see us against the orange tsunami next week.

This is what annoys me about the typical AFL media. The giants looked great, but there is no story in talking about how good they were. Instead it's straight to how bad the opposition were.

It constantly annoyed me in 2022 when we had won the previous premiership and looked like a million bucks. I was craving those media articles that I now realise are only reserved for the bigger clubs which talked about how well we were going.

No action taken against Filth coach.

Another example of justice having been served?

As we watch the Pies fail to contend we'll also see mcrae revert to type. The smart a---e comment to young Toby was contemptible.  We'll done to Kingsley for the response. Short and to the point.

I'm sure we all know people like this. All sweetness and light when things are going his way .... quite the opposite when things aren't!!

I mean, credit to Bedford for not only blowing up Daicos, but also getting under the skin of the opposition coach.

Ken Hinkley must be wondering how many instagram followers it takes to be allowed to sledge with impunity. The way his incident played out you'd think Ginnivan was a 10 year old waiting for a school bus when Hinkley threw a smoothie at his from a passing car.

Hawks ate the embodiment of big mouthed thin skinned little privileged [censored].

Can the media stop saying Collingwood look unfit, old & won't make finals etc.

We do not want this team to get motivated to prove a point.

Do not poke the bear.

Lets hope Port beat them this weekend though

Exactly. I don’t know how McRae only ended up with a warning. What’s the threshold for a fine over a warning? Any negative and unwarranted comments from a coach to an opposition player should be the same fine.

What temperature do they implement the heat policy?

Our game on Sunday won’t exactly be played in arctic like conditions either.

I didn’t know there was an established heat policy. Do you mean at a certain temperature the game can be abandoned? Or just changes such as longer breaks etc?

Pre season games is usually where the heat policy comes into play.

Think the only changes are unlimited rotations and no subs, just full use of the extended bench.

Oh heck no, they won't be postponing another game!

The so called heat policy has longer breaks and extra water carriers etc...I'd say it will be in effect on Saturday afternoon given a temperature of 35+ is expected in Geelong.

At this stage our game is looking cooler - low to mid 20's with possible rain.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
