I actually think they're a chance to stay up now he's gone 3183. Their best days were when Luggy managed them.

Ive heard a rumor that Luke will be in Melbourne this weekend looking for a house for his mum.

we should check to see if luke is available i.e round 10

(anyone remember that one?)

I think Jonesy brought one back from the supermarket whilst on a Noosa preseason camp and Dogga asked him what it was.

Luggy is an Argyle legend - there’s always been lots of Scottish connections at Argyle, by the way.

Never thought i'd see Plymouth Argyle and Paul Sturrock mentioned in a thread about Luke Jackson.

Buzsaky was fun to watch.

He certainly was - the Marvellous Magyar. Apologies for derailing the thread.

Land needs no bait.

We are going to click anyways.

If Freo is any Warner and Pickett they are going to have to loosen some capital - I can see them allowing for Jackson to go to facilitate that.

But he may have other designs - this will be the last generation of players with effective no-trade clauses.

Interesting thought. Want to elaborate a bit further?
Re this possible trade I also wonder if Pickett isn’t a more important player to us than Jackson would be.

Yes but if Pickett is adamant and we can get Jackson, that makes it more interesting.

aflpa will fight tooth and nail to maintain it

be interesting to see which they agree to first - trade without agreement from the players or mid-season trades

imo you can't have the latter without the former

Just listen to the interview Freo's CEO gave yesterday and you can see that there's clearly truth to rumours that he has some pull back to Victoria that is definitely beyond his girlfriend's connections. There's clearly something going on with him in his personal life that they're trying to work through to convince him to stay.

That being said I would be very, very surprised if they trade him. And as long as they refuse we should keep that same energy with Kozzy.

Agreed, I'd keep Kozz and re-assess at the end of 2026 unless Jacko came back in the deal

Hypothetically

Pretty much the same relatable dilemma that we all experience. Re: if you are with a partner who is from either interstate or abroad.

Hypothetically if she gets the 9 month warning bell do you

a) Stay in the present location and live the family life on good coin

b)  Move away from the fella's primary source of income to be with maternal side and have more of a family life without the man

c) Move away from the primary source of income, and then  get a bigger and longer guaranteed income for he and she, have family close by and play on the G every second week if not more.

Now both clubs must wait until the bogan gender reveal to see if the balloons are purple / white or red / blue

I agree with G Lyon. Kozzie stays . Traded under no circumstances.

He's the best small forward I've seen in a dees jumper(across 60 years)

Big call and can’t really argue as he is super skilled and has the flag. Jeff Farmer in conversation though.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
