Fair play to him squeezing a five year deal out of them. Five years is a long time for a player of his caliber. I'd wager he's not in their best 22 in five years time...

He'll be playing as a lockdown defender at Peel in the WAFL by then 😉

Named after a Victorian who came back from WA and got picked up by the Dees from obscurity in the rookie draft and repaid the faith by returning to WA after both sides ignored him previously.

Why would you boo Judd, who went back home for a heap more money and a much longer contract?

Not happy, but I can accept that.

Hopefully Rankine kicks another 6 on him next year and he plays out the year at Peel Thunder.

I'd be more worried about who is going to play on Rankin next year

Didn't he kick 5 on Judd last year?

He may not respond for a few hours given he's on Perth time

They’ll boo Judd not because he went back home for a heap of money but because he lied to everyone, including the club.

I guess they see him as worse than Dogga, whose lie wasn’t as overt, ie. he maintained he was undecided when all the while he knew he was leaving. Everything he did screamed I’m leaving but he never uttered those words. It’s still a lie though.

I won’t boo Judd. (We have only one person we’re allowed to boo and that’s Maynard), I wouldn’t boo Judd anyways.

Like most on here I’m angry with him, but not because he lied. I’m angry because I feel like Lily is the one who’ll end up being screwed over. Let’s call it anticipatory anger 🙃

probably counting the bundles of cash Judd is getting from the Dockers as well

It WaS aBoUt HiS rOlE

Wasted energy to worry about him now.

I am not booing any player who left us currently and have only booed one ex player and I don’t even say his name, but his initials are T$ and he was our number 1 draft pick years ago.

He got money, but little success and is now a forgotten player.

I wish the same basically for those that leave us in similar circumstances, little footy success at their new clubs.

Players like ANB who leave for true family reasons are exempt from my wish.

Now back to our players and a successful football future with the Dees.

I think it also has to do with the fact that we thought he'd be part of this rebuild. Very handy players to have in our list.

Like Dogga, player the old "want to go home card" but funny enough only to Freo.

I am more angry with Freo still circling around our club like vultures trying to steal our players (remember the Kozzy rumours earlier this season).

What's next Rivers or JVR? Go away purple pest!

PS. As things stand today I'd rather deal with WC than Freo, but strangely these players don't even think of going to WC.🤔🤔🤔

The pick we got for Judd was originally WCs pick anyway.

Also not comparable to Jackson. Judd didn’t go to Freo cos he wanted to go home. He was very settled here. He went to Freo because he wants to get turned into Jordan Clark.

So he couldn't flourish in a new and refreshed list in our team?

It still doesn't make much sense to me, unless it was all about money then.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
