At the risk of a voodoo doll coming my way I thought I would 'out' our hitherto esteemed training reporter now operating under the pseudonym

Of course it took 2 seconds to work who it really is.🙃

I have no idea what you’re talking about, Lucifer’s Hero. You must be thinking of someone else, someone slightly deranged perhaps.

Ah, but you know I have a very good 'spidey sense' and Sherlock Holmes type detection traits ... Nope I am not mistaken!

LOL!  It was the 'Interests' on your profile that confirmed my suspicion 🙃

At least you didn't post a voodoo doll with 'Luci' photo shopped onto it.🙃

Fair points, but just on the relationship between Trac and his fans - I’m not saying I was personally effected by it

Moreso that his lack of attempts to display anything other than a cursory commitment to the club this year suggests that positive fan sentiment was not a priority for him, and some of the reporting that came out around his intentions of why he wanted to leave also suggests this

Just like we can’t control whether he goes, we also can’t control if he stays, and I don’t think a few stray comments on a forum will be the difference for him, so let’s not get too caught up in it 🤷‍♂️

Like you have. My opinion.

I need a refill. Very soon.  Depends how quick you want to drink,

Guess DH would be a bit peeved if I got my nephew (a Bulldog) to stop by training next Friday when he's driving us home from the airport.  Been a long time since I've been to training.

Oo!  I see a Ghostwriter has entered the conversation!  Excellent.

Observations: what i see

Confirmation bias:  creating meaning from observations to fit my belief system or narrative.

Unless you ask him, anything beyond the observation is useless.

All of this Trac is unhappy/brand focused etc inference is without any basis.

Are you suggesting that after observing a behaviour anything that follows is useless?

That's ridiculous.

I can read behaviour as well or poorly as the next person. Trac did not look happy much of the time (in Mansfield) He trained hard and well (another observation).

Speculation as to why is another thing. I have no idea why.

I made an observation and reported it, I was not alone. He did smile with the kids.

I believe you are just as guilty of confirmation bias as anyone else,  lighten up.

Perfect.  Your Observations were insightful, and no BS speculations.

not getting heavy, just sick of massive diversions from the great posts of trackwatchers  into narratives that are presented as facts, not even speculation.

I’m all good, and happy to to lighten up.

Bugger.. had I known it was at Myrtleford today I would have called in a sickie and made the trek down the highway with my young fella.

One of my favourite songs from one of my all time favourite bands immediately came to mind:

If a further change of non de plume is forthcoming, may I humbly suggest the classic C & W tune ...

You can’t be guilty or not guilty of confirmation bias anymore than you can be guilty of falling for an optical illusion. It’s hard-wired into our brain, like all cognitive biases, and impacts all of us. Part of our evolution on the plains of Africa, designed to keep us safe by making us risk-averse.

Not so much on social media, and no, there couldn’t be sabre tooth tigers hiding in the grass at Gotch’s paddock.

And you should only refill empty glasses,  if they have beer or vino in them they are not thirsty,

Really?

Few people are not guilty of confirmation bias in some areas.

We search for stories that support our beliefs and rail against those that do not.

We form first impressions of people (sometimes wrong).

I have an opinion of you and no doubt you of me, when I read your posts I will have a preconceived idea of what you are saying. We could both be wrong, are we not guilty of confirmation bias?

Funnily I did a google search asking can you be guilty of confirmation bias, it replied yes. I stopped there because it supported my case.

I think the Dees will be great next season, you and I no doubt would agree. So all is not lost.

And I could be wrong 🙂

Any chance we could have a thread called Preseason Training not another Tracc thread like this one !

We could call it:

Preseason training- how are they Traccing?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
