Don’t you read the MFC website?
I fear as so have said before that D/Landers think this is an all embracing medium to head about Club matters. Well it ain’t !

The AFl and Melbournefc websites are compulsive reading for up to date info etc. on all other footy matters.

Is about time D/Lers got smart and realise how really narrow this forum is.
It resembles to be honest Trade Radio in  a lot of the posts. Then a gem or two restores your faith in this medium.

Thanks for that helpful comment, you're a real winner mate.  Of course I read it first and I couldn't find the date or any info about it so maybe I was looking in the wrong spot but that's why I posted here.  It's not your job to teach everyone how to be better humans, perhaps a benefit of the doubt sometimes wouldn't go astray.

You went to the trouble of posting that and still didn't tell me when it was on, then you have a crack at other DL'ers?  You really do epitomize the "internet forum legend".

You know what I'm looking again on the website and still can't find it so how about you stop being a chump and help a brother out when he asks you to.

Tomorrow's B&F will be juicier than a P Diddy indictment hearing.

Thank s for your response Angus. Yes I get a bit cheeky but really some D/Landers need PA’s they are that bad at obtaining basic Club administration.

The Band F has been in the club website for a bout 6 weeks with. Red and blue front page. Many if those pages do look the same.
tbf there had not been much on D/Land until about a week ago.!

But Angus surely you read the article about Trac going to Austria ( with club permission) for a Red  Bull training camp and he will miss the B and F on the 4 th tomorrow night.

Cheers

Thank you, yes I see you get a bit cheeky from time to time and I get it, I just try not to be in that category of DL'ers that make you get cheeky so you riled me up, I'm feeling particularly sensitive today being my favorite player whom I own a bobble head figurine of is looking to go to the stinking cats (could always be worse I guess).  I really did have a look myself first before posting on here so I tried to not be the average slack forum user, I do agree and I always go check the website first.  Next time I'll start with that hey ;)

I want to see an uprising at this event. Tables turned over, chairs thrown across the room, tomatoes thrown, absolute Halloween Havoc.

Even if it doesn’t happen, Tom Morris will tell us it did

Our website is a complete and utter joke. And has been for a long time.

I hardly visit it at all. And almost never for club related info like match day stuff or events.

It's beyond ridiculous that in 2024 a professional sporting club could have a website so embarrassingly amateurish.

Symptomatic of our woeful comms.

Might be the first B&F where everyone is told to bring their mouth guards

I think many posters are confusing tonight's event with the AGM.
The B&F is tightly scripted. It begins with highlights of the first six rounds and vote totals are posted.
A number of awards are presented eg Jim Stynes Community involvement award etc. Very short speeches.
Another six rounds of highlights and votes.
A meal break.
More presentations and a speech by the Pres. It'll be very positive without controversy I suspect.
More highlights and votes.
More presentations - best first year player etc.
Goodwin's speech - all positive, nothing controversial.
Final rounds and tallies.
I've attended more than a dozen going back to the nineties (run at Melbourne Town Hall with about 300 in attendance).
That includes the Neeld years - a very depressing few years but you wouldn't have known it as the B&F was all positives.
Previous years have seen the club song sung with gusto at the end. Not sure that will happen tonight.
I can't see a donnybrook breaking out. Any attempt by an attendee to ask a question will be shut down.

The program may be closely scripted, but anytime you have a room full of unhappy supporters it's going to be unpredictable.

I understand what you're saying but IMO the Neeld years when we won a total of four (?) games saw a room full of very unhappy supporters.

Yes I am not very happy about Clarry possibly going he deserves some fortune but must perhaps realise that he is 27 not 17. He needs to attempt if he can to not only have footy in his life but find another girl to replace his previous one in his life.
I am also concerned we may not be tough enough negotiators in the process.

Isn't that meant to be "..a rats toss bag.. ".

According to Blighty anyway.

Let's keep this classy, people.

The proper and polite expression is "an obese rodent's fundament".

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
