Swans forward line is not the issue. They are being bootsed +60 something in uncontested ball and +9 contested.

Starts from the middle.

Anyone know why Bruce is backing commentating? I thought he retired 5 years back.

Because BT makes Bruce look like Winks

Heeney also putting in another Herculean performance on GF day. Bloke must suffer from some serious stage-fright

I've been working so only looking at stats now. How is it even possible to have fewer supercoach points than disposals?

Funny how all year we hear about the fact that wining center clearance doesn’t matter as much as the importance of scoring on turnover. Yet here we are and the lions are winning 10-6 swans and scoring from them too.

Could the St Kilda sprinter break any more times at the start there?

One probably wonders if Sydney having the advantage of playing it's finals at home is a disadvantage.

Or does the doubt of two years ago kick in. ( I'm sure it has now).

We may have missed in straight sets but it's not as bad as this.

No excuse for them to just lose intensity so much so quick.

I don't want to take anything from Lions. The problem for me is that they have been good but not necessarily excellent.

For me it's a case of Sydney losing than lions winning.

Ps

Why isn't Windsor in the sprint?

Bruce and Dennis were the last good channel 7 commentators.

The next time someone says you can't have a ruckman as a forward coach, just remind them that soon to be premiership winning coach Chris Fagan never even played footy at the top level.

Found the highlander pub in Roma, after a bit of fuss, packed pub early start here 8am half time,  lions look like the dees in the 3rd Q. 2021 granny doing what they like,

Half the pub for both sides. Plenty of colours around

lol.  Was that the Swans psychologist addressing the entire swans team at half time.

Either that or the Horse has bolted 🤣

I’m glad we took our chance when we had it because flags are bloody hard to win.

In hindsight when we came back from 45 points against Geelong to win it there was going to be no stopping us in ‘21. Same thing has happened to the Lions. Incredible finals series for them.

Zorko is a germ but will be very happy to see Jarrod Berry and Fages get a flag.

The straight sets quinella of 22/23 sucked balls but I’d still take it over supporting the Sydney Swans. lol. No hard feelings with Grundy but those who were moaning about him can eat some humble pie.

What’s with the large block of empty seats behind the goals? City end I think.

Just heard Cam Bruce mentioned, surely make a play to get him back to Melbourne as an assistant? I’m not usually one for bringing a former Melbourne person back but being the midfield coach of a GF side could be very enticing.

The Lions are showing so much more intent and will to do all the demanding off-ball stuff. They are getting 2 or 3 extra players to each contest, they are spreading the Swans across the ground creating small spaces for them to do repeated 20m kicks, and so many more handball receives. Their field kicking is wonderful, leading to strong F50 marking.

Swans looking lazy. Grundy being well beaten by an impressive Fort, Heeney being well held by Dunkley (illegally I might add, but umpires not noticing it), and the Lions midfield slaughtering the Swans midfield.

Not a great game of footy to be honest.

Biggest lead in 70 odd years (half time in a GF)

It's a mountain from here for Sydney

If the Swans do get pumped at the end of the game, I wonder if they will accelerate the handover from Longmire to Cox. He’s had a great year Horse but maybe they’ll view it’s time to change things up to clear the final hurdle.

He would have great credentials

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
