Not that I care enough to look up the stat's. Thought he was very good early but don't recall him doing much in the second half and last 1/4

He kicked their only goal in the fourth.

Had a poor year by his standards, and probably by any standards tbh. It’s somewhat remarkable that GWS were as good as they were this year despite him being mediocre.

Imo the Lions are a much better chance to beat the Cats than GWS were. Tom Green is left to do too much. The Lions midfield is deep and that is the Cats weakness

Joe kicked 18 goals in his last 3 seasons at the bombers

and has now kicked over 200 goals in 4 seasons at the Lions

Ive come to like the bloke. not just for walking out on the bombers but he is never boring and just does his thing with no fuss

the chewing gum too is definitely a point of admiration. Like his coach. I like it. He might not if he choked on it though.

Chris Fagan is an unbelievable coach. Well done to him.

That was epic!!!

I agree re Fagan. I was rapt for him and I'll support the Lions for the rest of finals.

Hope Fagen is holding up Cup at the end of Grand Final. I'll go and cheer for them the next two weeks seeing I can't cheer for us. I'd rather hear their theme song around the G as compared to the one I had to hear last year when final siren went.!

You would think a bloke like Josh Kelly at 29 would step up when Coniglio went down. He has so much talent.

Still waiting on his Brownlow. Or a flag

Barrett??

Did someone else feel like Toby Green went MIA in these finals? Nothing against Sydney and nothing today.

Green kicked two quite incredible goals.

Big game by Jesse Hogan too.

I think JVR will be even better than Hogan. A better attitude than Jesse.

Hogan and Bedford continue the Dees’ grand tradition of going out in straight sets.

If Bedford kicked his shot from 40m directly in front they would have won

He’ll always be a demon

If we end up with a Geelong v Sydney GF again then it will mean those two clubs plus Hawthorn, Richmond, West Coast and Collingwood, will have won 18 of the last 20 flags (the Dogs and us being the other two).

And then the other two sides won the four previous flags, which mean that we are guaranteed to see that 23 of the last 25 flags (2001-2024) have been won by 8 clubs.

A Port v Lions GF would suit me

Dont care who wins but at least it’s not the academy Swans or the never [censored] off Cats

Both would have beaten Geelong. Cats beat flakey Port and everyone thinks they are champions…? Cats’ midfield is very very weak. Neale, McLuggage, Ashcroft, Dunkley etc vs Dangerfield and … Atkins, Bruhn, Bowes? I know Chris Scott is good, but I just don’t see it.

daniher nailed those last 2 goals. clutch from him

Barracking for Daniher is like you’re driving a big yank tank V8 from the 70s.
You might have 400HP, but no [censored] steering.
It might not start. Or the accelerator might jam on and send you over a cliff, or to your destination in a hurry.

You just don’t know.

I wonder if GWS would have done better if a few more fans had been there. Terrible attendance for such a game!

I think they were all there 🙄

do we take any solace out of the fact that the last time we played the preliminary finalists we lost to 3 of them by less than a goal and beat the other one?

Nope. Watching these finals teams shows me how far back we are. Big changes needed at the Demons if we’re to match them.

We did well against both of these teams despite our injury concerns this season. Could have and should have won both games. We will be back in 25. Go Dees!

Take it up with Daniel Hoyne of Champion Data, but he says that ever since Dangerfield has come back, they've been the best midfield, and he'll vomit if he hears another person keep calling it their weakness.

Footy is disappointing. Cats will beat the Lions easily. Bloody hope not though.
