No he wasn’t, he was sent directly to the Tribunal by Laura Kane, against the decision of former Pies player and MRO Michael Christian.

The pathetic case put forward by the  AFL, in front of admitted Pie supporter Tribunal Chairman Gleeson, got the desired result.

As I said at the time, the AFL would outlaw that action after the season ended, which they did.

PS: Most ex players and media said he deserved a suspension. Nathan Buckley and Eddie were two who disagreed, of course.

And we should never ever ever use that peanut Adrian Anderson again. He hates Melbourne. Played golf with him once and his disdain for our club was blindingly obvious.

Why the truck do we keep using him as our go to man? Just because he wrote most of the by-laws f me!

Surely within our wider club network we have savvy enough supporter/ lawyers who are in touch with the workings of these laws.

Who don't dislike the club.

Cmon Dees lift and find somebody else.

He is also hopeless.

has raised eyebrows

why?

Story here? no

Nothing in it. All about brand management. Anna is not an accredited footy agent and wouldn’t be my first choice if I was trying to instigate a move elsewhere.

Any chance Trac was not happy with the leaking of BS during trade season?

Reading the article it also says she isn’t an accredited agent, so can’t actually negotiate AFL contracts… so not sure how he can do a new deal 🤣

5 years left on contract and he will be 34.

This seems to be about some issue with his management and probably his future commercial opportunities.

Correct… so he obviously isn’t looking to negotiate a move elsewhere which is nice to know

I’d say he’s gone to an agent that maximises his out of football earnings.  Of course Ralphy and his minions will see that as him wanting to leave.

One example of (too) many: She was tasked with explaining why no 50-metre penalty was awarded to North in the final minute of a match vs Collingwood when North were trailing by one point and Bailey Scott marked and was immediately rushed at by two Collingwood players, Sidebottom and I think it was Beau McCreery. A 50-metre penalty would’ve put Scott in the goal square, almost guaranteeing a five-point win.

What does Kane do? She publicly admits she sought advice from Brad Scott when it came to explaining this howler. Then she declares that in future she’ll not be fronting the public on matters such as this. What??! If I’m sch!ttt at an important part of my job I don’t get to say welp, not doing that anymore, and still expect to keep my job, let alone getting paid the same.

Some background. The Age article contains a decent bit of background analysis

She has worked with Team Petracca since August last year, supporting the Melbourne star’s wife, Bella Beischer, in securing some of his non-football commercial deals, particularly with his ever-growing cooking empire On Trac 5.

They had worked together with D’Orazio and Connors Sports on some deals, but the switch to Scullie will streamline Petracca’s affairs.

There's a whole new revenue source in the social media sphere. My feeling is that the mainstream managers don't really exploit it. Could even be a role for Tracc post football. Good luck to him

This all about maximising brand Petracca

Connors is way too busy and has little sway/expertise in the area of sports sponsorships IMO.

The fact that he doesn't have an AFL accredited manager is good for us. It means he isn't going anywhere.

and how has this anything to do with it?

I guess it means she isn't there for her footballing pedigree

Exactly. Not part of the old boys' club, she's there on merit.

No she’s likely there because she can manage his interests better than the next person. DEI has nothing to do with it.

ummm, i think the comment was aimed at kane,  not tracc's new manager

Cheap shot. Laura Kane is no worse than any other AFL manager as far as I can see. The problem with the AFL is it can largely bumble its way from issue to issue as the game has its own irresistible force. I could manage the game and it would still grow while I play golf and wait for reports done by others.

laura kane's position in the afl exec has nothing to do with diverty or equity hiring; everything to do with melbourne uni law school, uni blacks, and kpmg consultancies

anna scullie's hiring as petracca's manager has everything to do with his outside football interests; it's a good result as it means negotiating a contract away from the mfc is problematic as scullie is not an accredited afl manager

It's hard to know but I assume that if Tracc did want to negotiate part of his contract he has an arrangement with Connors (or he could appoint someone else who is accredited) on an 'as needs' basis. That wouldn't be unusual.

probably the case

but it means the in-season negotiations would be relatively uncertain, i suspect

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
