I guess that works, except it doesn’t explain why Tracc didn’t quash all the bulltish reports and why nobody from the club challenged incorrect reporting for almost the entire time the most intense focus has been on us for years?

If it was all just made up, there’s no reason to have handled things by either party, the way they have been handled.

That doesn’t make sense.

BoBo it is the true art of negotiation, always, I repeat always find the best Win Win outcome for both parties, neither party blinked. Well done MFC and Christian Petracca.

Bloody great news. Now to work on supporting Kozzy and getting him to stay in the red and blue.

Unless he says so, who knows,  we can speculate, but it's not true until he says it is.

I can tell you he tested the market

At least I have an IQ.

Can I ask you why you believe Trac was silent for 19 days while the MFC was trashed and roasted in the media for that entire time when the whole story could have been put to bed straight away?

Weird how you can go from despair to bullish in a few moments

Yes DeeZee felt the exact same way.

At this stage I’d like to eccentuate the positives and say how good will Windsor be after another pre season.

completely off topic but bouyed with the news and feeling best I’ve felt in  a while after the brilliantly good news about Trac.

God knows we needed some good news as we’ve suffered heaps lately and I know you’re all feeling it.

It hasn’t been fun, and to feel some joy for once is much needed.

Of this I have no doubt. If Collingwood or Carlton had access to early picks I do not believe Christian would be a Demon next season.

Now the hard work begins to get Trac the support he needs to rehab and get back to playing at his best. The club also needs to get to work and be a better run club top to bottom.

It's totally his prerogative.  Not his responsibility for the media going into a frenzy an the proletariat believing. Could be a myriad of valid reasons why he remained silent. Unlike others on these boards I don't pretend to have 'sources'.

There’s more than one way to build “Brand Petracca”…

Gawn's very well-spoken words yesterday on radio,

Can you post this please? Or have I missed it somewhere in this forum.

well now that carlton and the filth have failed to snare the trade of the century, does that mean the media will now demand the heads of the carlton and filth's  ceo and president? they couldn't even drag it to trade week.

I’m sorry , but Tom Morris needs to be relieved from his duties for a second time.

I personally, would not like to relieve Tom Morris

Is he actually wrong

Definitely not from what i'm hearing.

He hasn't done himself any favours within the club and for members. Still.... as mentioned by others, other players have remained at their clubs in this situation and worked it out.

Hey I’m wrapped he’s staying! I just see a gaping hole in the logic that this whole thing was a media beat up considering we’ve been battered from post to post for the last few weeks, when seemingly if it was a media beat up, we just allowed spurious and unfounded allegations to go unchallenged? Didn’t quash them weeks ago?

That makes absolutely zero sense.

I wonder what we agreed to do to get Trac to send that message

I really hope we haven't told him that if he plays for us next year we'll allow him to walk out on his contract next year and give us and other clubs longer to prepare a deal with better picks.

Thank god it’s 7 months until our first game

All will be forgiven pretty much by then

Time to focus on trade period now.

Go out and get Peatling, heard an interview before. Non committal, I want him, get him.

Carlton have this year first and next which they could have offered.

I'm guessing it was more salary cap related?

The length some people will go to to get out of going to Ringwood. Am I right? I'll see myself out. Apologies to anyone from Ringwood. Never been there. Probably a lovely place.

You confessed to being elitist on the podcast. You don’t have to put it in writing 🤣

Does this mean I can't bring to Ringwood tomorrow, my No.5 Navy Blue guernsey (for a Tracc autograph) I bought at the Carlton Fan Shop at Princes Park this morning? 😁

Great news for MFC, now they need to push really hard for a key position forward, say Max King, I don't think he is a happy chappy under Ross at Linton Street and could really flourish in a new environment.

This whole episode has shown there are some real issues at the Dees, they need to be tackled otherwise quality potential transfer signings will give the Dees a wide berth.

Time to start looking for a new CEO and President, they haven't exactly covered themselves in glory over the last year or so ...

The amusing part was Oliver and May being approved as his replacements due to being much less controversial figures.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
