Cripps and Walsh would steal more. Daicos at Collingwood too

Well Oliver historically has taken enough votes to perhaps deny Tracc a Brownlow already and the opposite applies as well. I don’t think Oliver’s ego is big enough to care. Oliver has played 6 less games than Tracc but has 18 more career Brownlow votes. 116-98.

Trac's link/friendship with Ben Simmons presents an interesting case study.

image.png.7bd224782f5d8bed3ddbd2131807cb2f.png

Ben sat out a year in order to get a trade to the Nets. The big differences are the NBA is a much bigger/richer league, Ben was in his early 20s and wasn't a top 5 player in the league. Interestingly the NBA still credited him with a year of service despite him declaring he would sit out the whole year (and then doing just that)

But...I can see a scenario where even if he remains at Melbourne his last game in red and blue will forever be v Collingwood on KB 2024

r/melbournefc - Christian Petracca = Ben Simmons 2.0

How can someone think that this is a wise move? Ben Simmons ruined his career making those choices.

Max even got the gig with Google. That's a huge deal if you ask me.

And that was even before our premiership. I remember it was around 2018 or 2019.

Max is more marketable. He has charisma, he has wit. He is a natural born entertainer.

Trac is not. Trac needs football, and a big following to be a social media star.

That is the difference.

Still waiting for Trac to actually say something non-food related.

IMG_9651.jpeg

He won’t say anything, he’ll sneak off to Europe & let his manager get the deal done.

By then his brand will be in tact & the MFC brand will be in tatters

CP5 aftershave & Nonnas bolognaise sauce will be on the shelves & he’ll be hanging out with Issac Quaynor & the Daicos boys before we know it

The 170 odd games, AAs, Norm Smith & premiership will just be a forgotten memory from the club that gave him so much

Max Gawn is naturally likable has charm and a sense of humour, doesn't need to push his brand to the same level. Jim Stynes saw that in him.

Hard to believe but someone in my office, a Collingwood supporter, actually told me yesterday that Max should've retired two years ago.

Basically inferring that he is overrated and past his due date. 😆

I guess Pendlebury should’ve retired 5 years ago by their math?

I fully understand your position.  But in this case I don't know who it is that you have asked not to be named since such posts disappear. I can imagine that others may have named them without knowing, thus causing you more work.  It seems the mere mention of this person (as distinct from slagging off about some journo) is the problem?

Could you not publish a longish list of names which not to be mentioned in this thread without that causing you any grief?  Would seem odd, but you can hadly be sued for that.

I want to be as clear as possible: it is essential that we do not name or blame private individuals on this platform.

I am unable to provide a list of names that are off-limits because I have been threatened with legal action if certain names appear on this website. This is not something I wanted to bring up, but I had hoped the need for discretion would be understood without explicitly stating it.

There have been instances in the past where certain users have been identified as persons of interest by those making inquiries. This is a serious matter, and I am doing my best to protect myself, this website, and all of its users.

You may have noticed that we had to close down threads related to former senior figures at the club, as well as discussions surrounding specific incidents like the Clarry and JS situations. These decisions were not made lightly, but they were necessary to safeguard the platform.

If you wish to continue using this space to discuss the club, I urge you to adhere to the rules and recognize that there are topics and individuals we simply cannot discuss. Sometimes, posts will be removed in their entirety, even if only a small portion is problematic, because I cannot always selectively moderate out the offending parts.

I understand that this may be frustrating and inconvenient, especially for those who are equally upset and want to vent and express their feelings. However, I cannot jeopardize my livelihood to allow someone to vent their frustrations or take a shot at certain individuals.

The rules may seem overly cautious, but the risks are real. I ask for your understanding and cooperation in navigating these challenging circumstances.

There’s no accounting for stupidity but qualifying someone as a Collingwood supporter increases the likelihood

He’s getting 1 million plus now. Hard to imagine him getting more elsewhere. As other posters have said it’s an hyper inflated ego and a sense of entitlement plus possibly others in his ear.

I'd like to clarify that discussing issues related to bad culture is perfectly fine, but please avoid getting into specifics about what and who.

For example, when it comes to matters like this, it's sufficient to refer to it as a case of poor advice from management without delving into further details.

Please understand that there will be instances where we may decide that a post is not appropriate. While this might not always seem fair or accurate, it is within our rights to make these calls. We’re doing our best to navigate these situations as they arise, often on the fly, so there may be times when we miss something or make a decision that some may not agree with.

Our primary goal is to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work through these challenges together.

Tarryn Thomas was effectively delisted or sacked by North and deservedly so. It can be done.

Completely different situation, as it involved court cases in the legal system, where he was found GUILTY.

As far as I'm aware, the individual you want delisted, has not yet been found guilty of anything that would constitute a conviction in a court of law in Australia. Nor is he the first or last footballer to be embroiled in this type of matter.

Stengle and Hollands were not delisted, nor was Willie Rioli.

The club can ill afford another legal battle on their hands for unfair dismissal. They are acting with what I am sure is legal advice on how to best handle this situation without causing us grief, nor the individual in question who I am sure is really struggling to cope with this too.

As much as you want to treat players as robots, they are not. Smith has a young family, and is about to lose his livelihood over a very very silly and unacceptable mistake, but a mistake none the less.

Hi Andy,

I’ve gone through all your directives in this thread, but I’m still a bit unclear. Are you emphasising that it’s crucial we avoid naming or blaming private individuals on this platform? Because if that’s what you’re saying, then I’m understanding it to mean that it’s essential not to name or blame private individuals here.

Please confirm if that’s correct.

Thanks,

So Tracc can go to a big club and maybe win a flag, or he can stay and be the reason the MFC become a big club, winning flags growing memberships and getting a proper homebase with his statue on it forever... be a leader Tracc not a follower
