@Demonland 7 players gone from this team, with Petracca *potentially* gone in the coming months and McDonald (& Melksham) gone at the end of 2025. 3 retirees (Brown, Hibberd, Brayshaw), 4 trades (Harmes, Jordan, ANB, Jackson). Question marks for me remain over Sparrow & Petty (potential trades back to S.A. in the coming years?). May & Gawn to retire in the next few years.. So much for a productive window. With not much left at Casey, I reckon we go to the Draft and try to get as many high picks as possible!

Only 7 years until the 10 year reunion.

This is what doesn't compute.

I think the idea that from Trac's end this has been worked through logically and methodically went out the window some time ago.

"And as for Brand Petracca's ideal-world hopes of landing at Collingwood, the Magpies have zero trade currency.

Besides, they already have on their books a footballer with a far bigger brand. It's called Brand Daicos, although that brand has come to Nick Daicos mainly through football, not a need to tell people about it."

Ouch.

He’s not wrong. Nick Daicos having done 0 social media work has a quarter of a million followers.
Trac has just shy of half a million across two platforms that he’s got someone else managing for him full time.

The reality is that if he went to a club like the Pies, he would get to that magic 1,000,000 mark and will be making as much from his socials and sponsorships as he would from football. This is end game.

However this is not the NBA. You don’t get to walk out on a 5 year contract just because you want to.

Tigers asking for pick 6 for Rioli from the Suns. Suns don’t need to play that hard due to academy players coming through that they can get for combined picks.

Tigers then offer us Pick 1 and 6 for Tracc. We then take 1,5 and 6 at the draft. Tracc goes to a bigger Vic club, and sees he’s old mate Yze.

If Rioli is worth pick 6 then ANB is worth pick 1

Someone mentioned the Lions. Who knows if true, but he seems to like Qld and has a relationship with Neale. Then again, hard to see that Brisbane need him, especially with another Ashcroft coming through. But, a short hop step away is GCS. If he's that keen/desperate to get out and he and those around him like the sun/beach lifestyle...?

No Harry McKay, but they do have 6 + 13.

Hard to see any other realistic possibility, if he wants to go he's going to have to give up on something.

I'd almost have more respect if he was wanting to go somewhere like there for a new challenge and to help them play finals and eventually win a flag ala Ablett.

I've got a watch on Essendon. They've allegedly got salary cap space and have both their first round picks, their first being pick 8 this year.

Would anyone consider pick 8, future 1st and Caddy?

The guy has 3-4 more years of good football then his brand is gone. No brand other than Jordan continues past a players retirement.

Personally I'd prefer that we don't see how the next 12 months play out and revisit his request then. The way his head seems to be at the moment he could just go through the motions (as some thought Dogga did) buying time for the likes of Collingwood to find the draft capital.

BARRETT: 'Brand Petracca' takes a hit amid superstar's silence - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1207084

Agree 100% with Barrett.
And no-one is more surprised about that than me.
The longer Petracca is quiet, the worse it reflects on him.

This is why he’s pivoted away from football.
The devil works hard, but his management works harder.

People are severely underestimating how much money Trac is making outside of football for everyone in his inner circle.
Some of his current brand deals would be worth in the hundreds of thousands. He’s not working with some chicken shop down the road. He’s working with big brands. Global brands.

This guy has no idea. trac5 has almost 500k followers. You reckon they are all going to leave?  Ok, boomer.  He can make $10,000 a post. He can post something once every 2 days and he'll be making more money than he does playing football.  Wouldn't be surprised if the goal is 1 mln followers, as much as it 300 games.

You lost me at ‘Ok, boomer’. Tired, cliche and, as my daughter suggests, ‘Cringe’.

This is true. And the parallels with Trac are amazing.

A few years ago my wife gave me a mug that said “World’s Greatest Husband”. It was my Norm Smith!  We had moved into a beautiful house and everything was great!

One day I was using the Karcher to clean the stone wall in front of the house. After a while I felt tired and went inside for a rest before I’d finished. The wife said I should finish it that day because we had guests the next, and a half clean wall would look odd. She sent me back out there when I was really hurt. I continued with it until I couldn’t even hold the hose. Something was obviously wrong, so my wife called the ambulance and soon enough I was in intensive care. I’d suffered an extreme heart attack and had only 1% blood flow.

The doctors worked on me with an emergency operation and saved my life. I was in intensive care for four days. I wasn’t allowed visitors because of Covid.

That’s all true.

It’s only now, watching Trac, that I know what I could have done next.

While recovering I could have plotted. I didn’t like the direction of the marriage. (How could she not know that my arteries were clogged?)

In order to extricate myself from the marriage, I could give my wife one reason. I could tell my friends another. And I could tell a few stories to the neighbours as well.

There’s sure to be someone else interested in me. Maybe someone with more friends, or famous friends that would help me enjoy my life, like I deserve. Hey, maybe a rich woman. I know a couple of well connected wealthy widows who like to throw big parties. Then I could tell my dad jokes in front of a larger audience. I’d love the attention!

It would be a great way to build my brand.

Thanks Trac.

Sounds like the opening of a raunchy novel.

Dazz, it was mentioned to him recently that publicly whinging about the direction of the Club, is ruining the direction of the Club.

Very difficult at the moment to see the circuit breaker.

Id rather keep him, but if he must go, then he must go to Essendon. That'll teach him.

Not sure it’s possible for me to hate that club anymore than I do now but I think that would do it.  I won’t be surprised if they are one club that might make an offer.

I’d break their fingers grabbing that deal off them. It’s way overs if you ask me.

Not sure where the Brisbane thing came from. I reckon some journalist was like Noosa? Noosa is in QLD. Brisbane are in QLD. I do math good.

Plus, he allegedly had coffee with Neale, therefore, trade to Brisbane done and dusted.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
