Why would you want to stay to play out your remaining prime years at a club thatโ€™s clearly in decline?

Genuine question, are the Pies not in decline?

Old list, no first round pick. What makes them more lucrative than Melbourne?

Heโ€™s a big star of the competition as it is. If the reports are true, I think itโ€™s more about increasing his โ€œbrandโ€ and social media presence, and going to one of the big Melbourne clubs would do that.ย

His brand is already one of if not the biggest in the AFL. I don't get this part of it

What part of this being played out in the media screams personal and confidential to you?ย

Yep, exactly. He could send an open letter via the club or his management to request privacy, that he is dealing with personal and mental struggles. And that he will speak when ready.

Instead, leak here leak there ... Keep quiet and head in the sand.

Remember when we nearly had Tracc killed I said we needed to announce an investigation, find some room for improvements in our medical protocols and show Tracc a little love. Did that happen - no.

Iโ€™ve also been saying all year Gawnโ€™s time was up and it was well and truly time for a fresh captain. Nope, didnโ€™t happen.

I donโ€™t agree with what heโ€™s done but maybe Tracc will change his tune if we put someone in to the head of footy or CEO roles who represents a fresh voice with new ideas.

Why would you want to stay to play out your remaining prime years at a club thatโ€™s clearly in decline?

Agree 100% with this.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!???

I was going to say earlier that Trac has gone full Hollywood Petracca and NWO.

This time last year,Goodwin said on numerous occasions "we won't trade Brodie Grundy under any circumstances"

This trade will get done as was Grundy's.

As long as we keep Clarry and Viney,i'm happy to lose Trac,he's a self centrered sook who runs his own selfish agenda in a team environment,a culture killer or the 10% we had left.

Let's get the best deal and move on,he's 29 and won't return to his best after this mental trauma.

Logical reasons:

N. Daicos.

The coach/game plan/general fitness of the side.

Otherwise sure thereโ€™s age concerns. And Im sure heโ€™d look past them for the big crowds, big sponsorships etc.

But N Daicos alone puts Collingwood closer to a flag than we are.

One player? Really? Coz Judd didnโ€™t help Carlton. Nor did Ablett help Gold Coast.ย
One player does not a club make. He sure didnโ€™t help them this year. Hell he couldnโ€™t even help them make finals.ย
ย

The big crowds and sponsorships is the real reason and we all know it. Going from 500,000 followers to 1,000,000 followers means his paid posts double and triple in worth.ย

Yep ๐Ÿ‘. Itโ€™s now about being fairly compensated. We need 2 firsts and a starting 22 player.

I just donโ€™t see why Richmond isnโ€™t being discussed. They tick all the boxes. Does it work for them though? Not playing finals wasnโ€™t on his Christmas wish list.ย

Pick 1 would be hard to part with, ย but theyโ€™ll pick up a few more in the coming years.ย

I don't buy into the age being a problem for them either, they'll always be attractive to players, they'll hit the free agency market and continue to refresh on the run the same way Geelong have really successfully,ย

they're a lot like an NBA side in a way, their entire list management strategy is about putting the best possible supporting cast around the Daicos boys.

G- brace yourself itโ€™s gonna happen. There no walking this back. He has torched other players in the club. If they donโ€™t trade him, Iโ€™d be less worried about the opposition players on the field.ย

Trac is no doubt one of our all time greats. We will not be the same team without him but honestly the way he has torched us, we simply have to find the right trade.

If anyone thinks this year was a disaster, just imagine how bad things will get in-house next year if he is still at the club.

What a fricken mess.

Except Richmond are going full rebuild. I doubt a player of Trac's age would fit in with their strategy. Despite his attributesย

IF what is being reported by the "journalists" is true... then it's just so sad.ย  We waited for 57 years to break the drought and our Norm Smith medal winner wants out of the club when after a number of things unravelled a few years later.

It's bad enough that the likes of ANB and Harmes will have finished their careers elsewhere when we watch the 2021 replay... but would never have thought the Trac would be elsewhere.ย  I thought he was our next Captain.ย  I made a book about him for my nephews. It's heartbreaking.

I remember the pain of Woey and Farmer and they were bad enough... but this is another level.๐Ÿ˜ญ

Some disturbing revelations on this thread. If even half of it is true, with so many younger players at the club you would think that the FD would be looking to move Trac on in the same way they did golden boy Jack Watts.

To the credit of the senior players, the coaches and the auxiliary staff, the young players have seemingly been spared any adverse effects of this situation. I donโ€™t know exactly how theyโ€™ve managed to do this so well (why look a gift horse in the mouth?) but itโ€™s abundantly clear when theyโ€™re all together, and when you speak to the kids who, as Iโ€™ve said many times before, are only to happy to spill on any subject and with total honesty. Re-signings also say a lot.ย

Sam McLure - all vibes and feelings. Only in football media would that rate as a story. McLure does not so much as claim to have spoken to any senior players about Trac or to have knowledge of any conversations about or with him.

Would be laughed out of any journalism school.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
