Well done Dees. Way undermanned and nearly had them.

To sub Van Rooyen is a sackable offense

Just amateur skills all night.

All that effort wasted by sloppy kicking and lack of composure.

It's always going to be this way with this bunch.

Billings should never get another game! Just awful!

He is actually scared of contact, how does he manage to play footy?

i cannot understand the stupidity of putting petty in the ruck, sorry he is a liability in the ruck always has been. With minutes to go and we are behind and we dont man up we let them play kick to kick, really how dumb is that.  And billings sorry i just dont see him having a future with his kicking especially for goal where it counts. our final chances are well and truly over, l would just like to at least see us beat Collingwood in our last game of the season.  hopefully we can get something good in the draft, like a new coach

Somehow Goodwin & the coaches have found a way to completely destroy this team of afl skill level, you look at the cats & how they have managed to maintain a standard since 07 and top up via trading in and free agents…it’s very sad that our club just can’t sustain success!

Fought it out all night in a scrappy match.

Port tackled hard and umps awarded all of them and us zip.

Strange.

Max...thank you.

JV you too.

Kozzys back to his best.

Of our six games by a goal or less we have one one.

Been the decider.

Three of those eees is in top eight.

Thanks you maggots for your manic htb calls that gave port five goals.

Goody be more proactive please

Oliver back to Casey.

Lost 4 games to top 8 sides by under a goal. Our best footy is still competitive with the best, we've got Petracca to come back, Oliver surely to find it again, and young guns like Kozzy and Mcvee who are yet to even hit their prime age.

There's still hope for another flag.

Season Officially Over.

Just get pick 6, or can it still be 5?

Can’t fault effort but skills wise terrible. Exhibit A Kolt and Biilings no poise at all. The result was predictable other than falling in against Roos we are clueless in a close finish. Surely in last two minutes u go Manon man instead we allowed them to milk the clock.

How many times have we been beaten by 1-2 points this year, games we should have won. We miss easy shots like Billings in last quarter, drops easy mark then under pressure misses from 25 out, bloody useless, another good off season pick up by Goodwin & co, sick of this club!

stafford bye bye

Bad miss at the end but Billings  wasn’t bad tonight . Kolstrup will learn, he’s ok. Lever awfully disappointing all year

I have no idea how he manages to get selected almost every week! You can see why the Saints got rid of him. Very poor recruiting decisions!

Suck sheet bummers 😂

Some of you really are miserable [censored] who should become Bummer fans.

Just rest our stars from now on,huge prep for what should be a huge preseason.

I'm not even angry. I mean I never thought we'd get that close to them.

Put max away for the season and don't bring may back

Bummers lose from the last kick of the match. There is that little cheer up

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
