Brad Green will sack him, we have mark williams that has afl coaching experience, we have Nathan Bassett that has had lots of coaching experience. There is zero reason to keep a coach we are planning on sacking in the position. That just further deteriorates relationships and players mindset about leaving. We need a clear change of direction and voice

He’s failed game plan started in 24 then he flipped back to the old one by his own admission! Now it’s even worse & has pushed us of the cliff, how responsible is for the culture issues to the point Trac supposedly wanted out, by his own admission he said they didn’t manage the whole Trac issue. What’s the risk of Trac requesting a trade of us finishing bottom 4, change is needed both coaching.Would we consider Longmire a strong culture setting background or is he cooked with 4 gf loses? Need to make calls on big names like Oliver to trade in talent.

The first 10 games disguised a massive issue with clubs attitude and the game plan. That winning start to the season comprised of wins where we played poorly and relied on one burst to kick a score to win as well as 2 games where we couldn’t put away north and WC.

I’ve been a goody defender. He coached us to a flag that I never thought I’d see and presided over the most successful 3 year period I’d experienced as a supporter.

Now however Im seeing disturbing signs he’s lost the players. Anyone see the footage on Kayo of Trac talking to Petty on the bench in the second? He was making a face that obviously expressed some kind of “ i can’t believe it” vibe. He noticed the camera and stopped it. There’s just too many players looking lost and bereft of confidence. Fritter 1.7 ?? If anything, our connection inside 50 has gotten worse …along with fitness levels.

I think we have to pull the trigger before the season ends.

We are extremely poorly coached. By all of the coaches . Not just Goodwin.We clearly can't run games out. Our players effort levels vary from trying too hard to not at all. They spend most of the game arguing with each other. Something is broken.

Apart from that, we are flying.

Hopefully they make Goodwin squirm on AFL 360 this Wednesday.. Although he’s way too robotic to display any human emotions.

He has to go.. Players have become reflective of his robotic, structured, reactionary nature. We’re playing a brand of footy that just like when Simon speaks, is too structured, instinctive-less, dreary, boring and uninspiring.

For both player & fan, the sample size is big enough now to know that it ain’t working. And something’s gotta give.

Like most things in life its not simple but the coach does bear the responsibility.

Players act or react to the coach. They may love goody and are therefore doing what he is telling them . so guarding space and not covering opponents just allows space for players to run into between the robots marking space.

By leaving opponents unmanned they are late to contests which means the tackles do not stick and opponents have plenty of time to get balanced and deliver to many options who have run into the unguarded spaces between the robots.

Our forward structures seem to be built on all forwards abandoning space to gather together. Easy to defend and run off as an opponent. This is the bang it forward delivery system outcome.

Last night the umpiring was appalling. Our players were called to play on almost as soon as they went one or two steps back or off the line. They did not have time to reset structures , find space , or get balanced for delivery. Geelong were rarely called play on and had time to reset structures , find space between the robots. Also when called to play on our player on the mark did not move towards the player allowing them even more time to balance and deliver.

Geelong players closed down our players . How many smothers did they effect, especially early.

WE still missed some easily gettable shots at critical times. Danger nails his shot when were challenging.

There are so many issues I cannot believe.

If I were Green Id be saying to Goody. You are the coach. What you are doing is not working. You must change something and we must see greater intensity and belief. Get the players ( and we have a good list) to perform against opponents , Kick better and think. WE will again point to the AFL that we are playing against the crowd who do influence umpiring performance We will arrange for AFL umpires to came and assist at training to explain how players are moving off lines or tackling poorly and why we dont get free kicks when tackled above the shoulders. They will also explain why opposition players can crowd our players out and we are penalised for similar tactics, (that maybe just a Geelong ground ruling). You can then coach the players to react to those learnings. Oh and we are doing something about facilities Goshs is not ideal but combined with Casey we have some great facilities maybe we need to use them differently. I like the idea of the boys playing with soccer balls but maybe they need to understand how a football bounces so they can react a little more quickly to bad bounces and maybe handball more precisely.

Tracs pick up on the run was delightful and does indicate that we do have some elite sjills, more players need to apply those skills more often, its space and structures that affect that as well

It was also strange that, during the 3rd QTR break, Goodwin comes on the field to motivate the team (I suppose) and then we proceed to capitulate.

Gawn’s post match interview last Saturday after the loss was creepy in the sense it was far too positive from what was displayed on field. What he regurgitated sounded almost robotic and cultish in the sense of feeling the obligation to front up AGAIN as captain.

(Paraphrasing) “Happy to be in this challenging position and we love to go down the highway”

Gawn is obviously stuck between a rock and a hard place, but really getting sick and tired of the club wheeling him out on a far too regular basis to defend the [censored] we are in. Goodwin is the epitome of this.

If we go for a younger coach like Jamie Graham to rebuild this side, we may lose Pickett and Petracca but there’s hope to keep them if a John Longmire comes in.

There's still hope for the club either way as it desperately needs change..

i very much doubt any coach is going to be coming into our club going 'oh, just get rid of two of the best five players, don't worry, i love a long slow rebuild'

no chance - any coach who comes in will want to RETAIN our best players, not jettison them
