Watching this makes me genuinely worried about 25.

I mean we aren't missing that many players so it's a worry.

It’s not a witch hunt he’s gone.

One of my absolute favorites. Star and a great guy to boot.

You absolutely couldn't get more Melbourne than winning a flag on the other side of the country while we're in locked, losing 4 finals at the MCG in a row, and then absolutely [censored] the bed again when your best player get injured.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Goodwin is a [censored] coach if absolutely everything isn't going his way. He's Hinkley 2.0. We have another decade of this to look forward to.

Yes 2024 is done and dusted.

What a great way to bow out.

Absolutely smashed.

We have given notice today that bruise free footy is well and truly back.

You’re being overly dramatic

Trac and Oliver with a preseason, is not the difference here. Don’t be fooled into thinking everything in 25 will be all right.

There’s losing and then there’s losing. This game should be over. Doggies should be up by 50 points. That is not a 1 -1.5 player difference.

Yes we are banged up but guess what, guarantee you that half their squad is probably carrying something too.

Goodwin has got this team playing so conservative and so slow that there is nothing positive about anything we do.

The season is done, take the shackles off and play with some flare and positivity and implement  changes now. Don’t wait until pre season.

Some on this site thought we were hopeful we would still make finals and a good chance to do so. Delusional on both fronts. Horrible season laced with loads of ill fortune. We we're never winning it tonight nor making the 8. Thank God we haven't! So many injured and struggling. Finish the season early and go again. Viney seemingly needs shoulder surgery,  May and Gawn should be put in cotton wool. Suns win tonight and we're down to 13th. Top 8 draft pick. Early finish. Nothing guaranteed but a strong October trade and draft period coupled with a an earlier pre season with fitter players and things could look a whole lot different.

Steadily transitioning into an irrelevant and soulless team again.

Can we change the coach before it's too late for this group, seriously.

If you have to repeat outside 5 as the player hasn’t moved surely that’s fifty?

I have said it before, his failures in 2019 and 2020 after making it to a PF were telling.

2021 we had the perfect season, including injuries.

0-4 in finals since the premiership.

All those finals played at the MCG.

Goodwin's credit is well spent IMV.

The writing was already on the wall before Petracca went down, there were alarming signs everywhere.

Very disheartening looking at our player faces.

They know the season is cooked and hard to be motivated to keep playing for 4 more weeks.

Honest quote.

Started with the Lions first game v us and cemented re  Eagles and then Freo ( twice).

We are lost.

And sadly it's players like

Oliver

Viney

Sparrow

May

Lever

Salem

Petty

That give me pause.

I'm worried for season 25.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
