He's very Paul Chapmany, maybe slightly less silky. Definitely suits our bash and crash contested game. He's physical and has smarts.

We lost 2%+ with those late concessions. Pity.

Agree - very annoying - % will have a big say in the top 4 this year

I'd love top 4, but I'll take top 8 and winning 1 or 2 finals. Particularly if Trac doesn't get back. It's intriguing that he isn't listed as out for the season, but out indefinitely.

But you're right, percentage will have a huge say on both, the top 8 and top 4.

Am I alone in being dissatisfied with the last quarter near capitulation ?

Near capitulation?! Pull the other one!

We kicked 5 in the last, they kicked 5 in the last, to overcome our lead they needed to beat us by 3 goals in the last. They didn’t, enjoy a super win.

What an awesome, gritty and determined win by the MFC.

Welcome back Clarry.

Welcome back Fritta

Goody I’m not a huge fan but well done.  Credit where it’s due.

Now rinse and repeat against Freo next week.

GO DEES

Can you believe he's 20 years old? Cool as a cucumber, I love having this guy on our team.

No sign of WCW this morning must have worn out her typing finger last night

Who are you Joe Biden?

We did.

But equally if weren't so accurate we would have list more percentage- and might well have lost the game.

The bombers were pretty impressive I thought.

The scoreline flattered us a bit, as evidenced by the x score - 71.3 dees to 75.5 bombres

i think they should be paid significantly more than part-timers

incentivise the job, and hold them to account

Only need 3... but they need to do job properly/ proffesionally/ accountable.

When was last time anyone saw an Ump over-rule because they were better situated/sighted ??

Something needs to change.

They were absolutely horrible last night.

Great win Demons, missing Trac, Max and Gus for mine 3 of our best 5 players last year!

Seeing, Rivers, Windsor, McVee, JVR and Turner of the young brigade all step up was terrific. AMW, Kolt are both showing positive signs!

Melksham has got better in the last two years, I’m not sure why, but he has lifted and last night you could really see his impact in the forward line. Perhaps competing more and selfless in his ball usage might be the difference, I thought he was gone two years ago, but delighted to be wrong.

Kossie celebrated his 100 with some freakish moments, when he went under Mckays arm and out the other side was incredible, he is just fantastic to watch.

Langdon, Viney, May, Lever, TMac, and Oliver after 1/4 time all stepped up!

Petty not in stellar form, but competed and played role he was asked by coaches!

Pressure, tackling, supporting one another to the nth degree was our one wood tonight, plus who knew, we played wet weather football!

What a great result!!!!!!!

Go Demons!

It was good to see us play wet weather football and the other team try to play dry in the wet for a change.

Huh?

My point is it’s easy to get caught up the emotions of how it happened with MFCSS and the recent loss to Brisbane and the North debacle on all of our minds but ultimately they never really got close. They didn’t even win the last quarter.

Not sure what your Biden reference is. I speak in complete sentences. Although if I could run the best program on student debt relief and lowering health care costs in US history alongside a healthy job market and strong economic growth I would.

I’ve seen “capitulation” written a few times and don’t get it.

Bombers threw all they could at us in those last minutes, as any decent team should.

I was talking to one of their supporters on the train home and I said I think they are definitely moving in the right direction. As much as I hate to say it Scott has them being a much more accountable team, and it will really help their young guys development.

4 goals in a row was a bit much though

Photo sums up a 19 year old kid just living out his dream as an AFL footballer.

My twitter feed right now is bizarre. It's 50% insane tweets about Donald Trump's attempted assassination and 50% proud Melbourne supporters pumping up Koltyn Tholstrup and the gang. I may or may not be tweeting on both topics myself, like a madman.

I'd say she didn't sleep until the early hors of the morning.

Rivers on ABC Radio now just said after running 17.5km, Langdon rode his bike home from the game last night 😂

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
