Demonland 74,340 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 The Demons are back in the hunt for finals after a clinical victory over the West Coast Eagles at the MCG which was sealed after bursting out of the blocks with a seven goal to one first quarter. 5 4 Quote
leave it to deever 17,614 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Encouraging to see the youngsters amongst it. Welcome back Melk. 9 1 Quote
Ethan Tremblay 31,388 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) So happy for Melksham. When he finishes up playing, I hope we keep him on in a coaching role (maybe forward coach) Edited July 7, 2024 by Ethan Tremblay 21 2 Quote
ElDiablo14 5,055 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 We are so Dr Jekyll and Mr Hide with our goal kicking, we either can't miss or we miss the easy ones 😅😅 4 Quote
Engorged Onion 10,224 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) god there are some miserable [censored] on the game day thread... would you take a 50 point win? Yeah... but, I'll [censored] whinge about it not being enough, and some players haven't done enough. nah nah, I just expect a lot from my team and want to see consistent improvement. Anyway Youngsters keep doing well. We don't seem to be toooo predicitable as per the earlier thread this week. Battened down the hatches in the 4th.. but you can spin that narrative that because we're not in the 8, you need to continue and put the 'foot on the throat' to be deemed to be worthy by some supporters vs being in the 8, and it was a day at the office and responsible. Heart Beats True 1,337 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) Good win especially when the youngsters were the better players. Still big question marks over Oliver and Sparrow, as well as our backline. Bring on the Injectors next week. Edited July 7, 2024 by Heart Beats True 1 Quote
croydick 142 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 the boys did amazingly, especially the kids. Second halves could use some tidying up still but super proud of them. Standouts in rivers, windsor, kolt and JVR and theyre all 22 or under! Bring on the Dons, we've got this. 5 Quote
Diamond_Jim 12,772 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Nice win and some great improvement in structure. Windsor's game was enormous and bodes well for the future. Next few weeks will be telling 9 1 Quote

Jaded No More 68,976 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Loved what I saw from the young kids. Kolt, Windsor and Roo fantastic. Last quarter without Max was always going to be a battle. Anyone know what’s wrong with him? 7 Quote

Nascent 9,345 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 We were never going to replicate the 1st quarter for the whole game. Happy with the win and form of our younger players especially. Tholstrup looking like he belongs and Windsor's best game for a while if not the year. Hope Gawny sub was just precautionary. Hard to see any changes for next week unless Petty is ready. Woewodin maybe the only one under consideration after 1 touch as the sub but would be a touch unfair probably. 4 Quote

Has there ever been a backline that cracks the sheets and points at others more than this mob. Still historically they're very good 1 1 Quote
leave it to deever 17,614 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 We win those close games against lions and blues and we would be second. What a bizarrely close season. 16 1 Quote
Bombay Airconditioning 6,504 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 I liked the fact we look to move the ball quicker and at times through the corridor. The fwd line seemed less congested and we delivered it a hell of a lot better than we normally do. TMac should be offered a one year contract for next year. 24 Quote

Wouldn’t be surprised to see crutches/moon boot for a few days and light week for him 6 Quote

Nasher 33,651 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Would’ve been nice to claw back a bit more percentage but no complaints - we smashed them. It was a game dominated by youth - Rivers and van Rooyen in particular as best players. Despite the disappointing season this list has a lot of upside, and this season isn’t over yet. 15 Quote
