Yes. As I said, you arm or wrist them.

Put on my Demons scarf around midday and hopped on the train to Jolimont.

Big thanks to the people on the carriage who told me the game is tomorrow.

It’s been one of those weeks, folks.

I know you are a muso Mel.

Am I right to assume you are a drummer?

Haha! Look that’s a valid question, but no I’m a guitar/keys player who’s really letting my crew down today.

Gallows humour incoming: I spent a good chunk of my week at my Mum’s new aged care place helping her settle in. I texted my (football-averse) wife on my way back from “the game” today asking “Is Alzheimers contagious?” She replied “No babe, you’ve just got Dee-mentia”

Pay that.

Maybe it's just me but I have a feeling we'll win by 10+ goals tomorrow.

Fingers and toes crossed Praha but feeling quietly confident there are 6-7 of us travelling in tomorrow. It will be a quiet trip home if we lose to the 2nd bottom side again.

Great idea.

I've no doubt we'll win well tomorrow. I think we're going better than many realise. That could just be me looking at the ladder and seeing us in 8 point games almost all the way home. The teams 3-11 are not better than us.

Based on the vision I saw (didn’t participate at all in training) I reckon he’ll be a late out.

I’m going again tomorrow with daughter #1. She has a 100% winning record. Surely she can maintain that against a team that has lost their last five games. 🫣

I’m a couple of days behind in my reading (busy laying in sunny Sorrento 🇮🇹). Could someone please tell me, should we win, both best and likely ladder position post the weekend?

Best case scenario is we win by heaps, GWS and Brisbane lose, and we finish the round 7th (requires us to increase our percentage by 4.7% to pass Collingwood - requires roughly a 10 goal win I believe).

If Brisbane wins we can’t finish higher than 8th. If GWS also wins (they currently lead Carlton), we’d near certainly not catch them on percentage and would finish 9th or 10th depending on percentage.

(If anyone’s wondering, Hawthorn’s loss means we don’t drop if we lose.)

I would prefer Hore over Howes or Thomlinson when he's ready.

Salem and Bowie have barely fired a shot all year, and Petty is giving us nothing.

Chandler's pressure is crucial. We need more with his tenacity. Would love to see him maintain it longer in games, but I don't think we should be dropping him.

I feel like our season changed for the better last week. We are going to finish the season strong. I feel its a good thing to have so many young players in the team and finals within reach. would be so good for their development to play a final, especially if it was at the G. They should show them the baby bombers season highlights, anything is possible

I'd like to see Harley try a don't argue on viney tomorrow.  Viney would shut him down immediately.  Actually it will be interesting to see him play live to see all the hype.

But hoping melksham has a good 1st game back

Mel Bourne had that same feeling today Praha and look how that turned out!

Would she mind much if you dragged her along to all our remaining home and away games?

Shouldn't we keep her in reserve in case we play a final !?

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
