A drunk red head at the game. GET WCW ON THE GROUND!ย
ย

We have needed some grunt and anger on field in recent weeks.ย
ย

WCW to get 200 pressure points in the first 10 minutes on her own, then sub her out afterwards. She will tire quicklyโ€ฆย

We must win. That is all.

But looking forward to seeing what Brown does and koltyn hopefully contributesย

The roos' pressure and contest has been good, but they lack the fitness to maintain it for four quarters.

I doubt we'll be fully wound up, but the roos are coming of a six day break and we're coming off a bye.

I think the roos will either come out flat, or come up out with good intensity but fade.

Dees by 43 points.

I thought you said North at the line looked good?

I find myself unable to stop rueing the Petty, Melksham and Brayshaw injuries at the end of last year. I reckon we'd be holding a second Cup and sitting comfortably inside the top 4 right now had those 3 never got injured. Instead the Pies are holding another Cup, Brayshaw has retired, Petty is a shadow and Melksham hasn't fired a shot. So tonight I sit and watch a game against and up and coming young team and can't decide whether i care more about 2024 or about the draft for 2025. Then there's the salt being ground into my wounds by watching Grundy and JJ ripping it up for the top team who can't buy an injury and are flying, Dane Swan's in the HOF and Carlton and Essendon are both above us. Sheesh that's some depressing football mood right there.ย

For those in the Eastern suburbs travelling in by train tonight, heads up that buses are replacing trains on the Lilydale line. Go Dees.

Those words that true Melbournians hate to hear. Buses are replacing trains on the โ€ฆ..line and the umpire for todays game is Matthew Nicholls

Also on the Sunbury line.ย

Just for a laugh after the results so far this round it is possible that a reasonable win tonight could be worth as much as six spots on the ladder and likely five. Going ahead of Geelong, Port, Footscray, Brisbane, one of the Dockers or Suns, and if things get really bloody, Western Sydney.

Wild times.

We need to be brutal at the contest today. Enough is enough.ย

It'd be more helpful to focus on skill, not brutality.

JVR for 5 and Kossie for 3... and Melbourne to kick 10 goals 15.

Nah HQ always had the Pies winning. They would have found another way.

Brown as sub really doesnโ€™t sit right with me. I think this is a very poor move by the footy department.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
