Well Ugle-Hagen is officially in the room. What room and whose I've no idea

A large question remark hangs over Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's head when it comes to the troubled Bulldogs' future, but leading AFL agent Paul Connors believes he can become another Jesse Hogan.

He’s either going to have to spend a year playing VFL equivalent with an immaculate record or any club that picks him up will be babysitting him and he will be watched like a hawk. Move in with a club President like Dusty did.

If Jamie Elliot is only getting 500k a season at Collingwood, which is mind boggling to me and way way unders. Should be on at least 800k a season. He just kicked 60 goals and had an exceptional final series. Dees get involved.

Gold Coast reportedly looking the likely club if he leaves, but I agree that I'd be asking the question.

Not even that....quoted that Pies offered him 425k per season.

Can see why he is considering other teams...must be worth 600-700k on form.

Really setting our new coach up for success.

Thoughts on Henry Hustwaite? Looks like a capable midfielder that’s just not given the chance

Every off season always has 1-2 total surprise trades that the media doesn’t know about until late. It does feel like we’re probably cooking something up

Yeah bit underwhelming to be honest.

Staying in character until the DVD commentary 🤣

Does Tim Lamb know about this?

Yikes

Does Lamb know there’s a trade period coming up?

As it is for most clubs most trade periods. The marquee trades get all the media, but the vast majority of trades are for meat and potatoes players near the ends of their careers, surplus to requirements or go-home.

Not particularly whelming.

The season starts next March. There's no prize for "winning" trade period.

CJ from hawthorn was touted as potential player up for trade. Contracted though.

Only for a late pick. He's a tall mid with decent skills, but not blessed with pace or strength. Plays mostly outside.

Much more interested in Cam Mackenzie if possible. He looks a gun mid of the future who's struggling crack games at the Hawks. Former top 10 pick so would cost us.

Agreed think Mackenzie has the ability to be a gun in the future, however, I found Hustwaite more an attractive option due to how cheaply we could get him, hawthorn reportedly want a first for Mackenzie

To replace d’arsey Moore, or as cultural attache?

Obviously a bit of water to go under the bridge yet , but again we are not linked to bring in anyone significant ( maybe Flanders but seems that may be heading another way)

If we get next to nothing for May only get mediocre picks for Mcvee and only Draft picks for Trac also ( if we trade him) and can't bring any other established talent from other clubs I think our list would have gone backwards from this season. Miohcek might be handy for a year or two but he is not a long term solution in the forward line. Heath and Derkson might be fringe best 22 players maybe more but no certainty.

King says he wants to make finals, or at least be competing for finals. If all we get this trade period is some solid tall depth and an ageing decent player in Mioheck I'm really concerned about our list next year.

Even if we get some decent picks, it a very compromised and apparently weaker draft. King would want to improve the list I would have thought and unless there is a major surprise coming out of this trade period I don't think we are improving our list for next year.

Apparently we are not rebuilding but if we are not replacing at least 3 best 22 players that we are losing somehow ( Miohcek might be one ) then we are in trouble next year I believe. We may be able to set our selves up for the next few years with some decent draft picks but just doesn't seem like we are going to be bringing in any significant best 22 players again this trade period.

if we are to compete again then this needs to change quickly. The premiers will be getting Oscar Allen and Sam Draper!!

I hope there is a suprise or two coming !

Bobby Hill??

Demonland: May and Clarry are a terrible distraction and bad for culture

Also Demonland: we should chase Bobby Hill and JUH

Really? What makes you think that about us?

I get the exact opposite feeling. I thought last year we might go big, but were no where near anything.

I think we have very few chips to play with appart from future picks. Maybe Trac, if he wants to leave, but even then we have to decide upon getting a good pick or not paying much of his contract. Can't get both, IMO

But I hope you're right

Have to agree here and I really hope we’re not setting King up to fail

Without some shrewd additions we’re essentially rolling out the same squad that’s had two back to back bottom six finishes

We might get a bounce from his coaching and natural improvement from our young players, but our senior core is also another year older and some (Trac and May) might not even be there at all

Let’s hope Lamb pulls a rabbit out of a hat, but his recent history doesn’t fill me with any confidence
