Filth ressies team announced!! WTH is going on at Dees and Casey surely they can announce !

Itโ€™s a long w/e PF. You will have to wait unti 9 am Monday morning. Probably 9:30 am. Give the club to make coffee, turn ion tne ย computer etc. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

ย

Interesting.

Howes, Adams, Tholstrup, AMW, Laurie, both Browns, Fullarton and Sestan all named on the ground.

Bench has McAdam, Tomlinson, Woewodin, Turner and Billings.

Potentially four dropped from seniors but not obvious who is getting a promotion from here.

Edit: Petty obviously retains his spot with JvR most likely joining him forward.ย

Are we going with only 2 tall defenders for the pies or does one of Tomlinson or Turner get a reprieve down back.

Petty getting a game is like expecting Ice Cream not to melt in the Simpson Desert,!

I kinda feel Ben Brown is hindering the development of the likes of Jefferson & now Kentfield.

It is pretty frustrating. If his knees preclude him from playing in the seniors, why have him grind bone on bone for casey instead of actually resting, and freeing up space for Jeffo, etc., as you noted?

Fair point.

Answer, anyone?

Does anyone know if a player is named on the field for Casey does that mean they are a definite to not play afl? If so, Iโ€™m pretty disappointed Kolt wonโ€™t be playing Monday.

It would also mean the likey changes are Billings in for Hunter and JVR in for Turner. Would mean they arenโ€™t making any other changes after a 90 point loss ๐Ÿคฏ

To say the least!

I presume while this is presented as a team, to meet deadline requirements, it's actually aย squad, at least at bench level. Otherwise, who could the other 3 be with JVR???

ย

p.s. Lukeskywalker (Wooker?) now progressing as some here had expected he should have been 3 to 4 hours after the telephone call.

Which is a DEESGRACE , but pure pure Goody !

Chandler??

LUKESKYWALKER ( WOOKER?)

LOVE THIS๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜

The so called side for Casey is not going to be so. Kentfield in defence , I doubt it.

Shades of Nick Saunter when we were aligned with Sandringham.

I notice, for what it is ever worth, that Kentfield is named in a back pocket! ย  Learning defensive skills or a ruse?

Would have been good if this game was at Vic Park. Easy access and on a nice day with byo chair very pleasant.

Not sure what the change room facilities are like but I assume they're ok as a number of Collingwood teams play matches there.

A few years back I went to Casey for the game against the Pies. It was a bonanza day for the egg and bacon roll sellers. I suspect like that day we will be well and truly outnumbered in the support area.

Keeping an eye on Tholstrup and Billings today. If we can get the latter to fire it may be the fillip our season needs.

At least 4, probably 5 of the 16 listed MFC players in that Casey team will be held over to play for Melbourne or as emergency.ย  IMO likely the 5 on the bench:ย S. McAdam (19), A. Tomlinson (20), T. Woewodin (40), D. Turner (42), J. Billings (14)

There are 4 KPF's in that line up. So which one plays out of position? We will know in 30 mins.ย

Looking at the VFL app tomlinson, mcadam and woewodin listed in the stats section.

No Billings, Laurie, JvR or K Brown.

I'd be very surprised if Kynan plays so think he is carry over.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasnโ€™t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals. ย

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
