Still, it presents an opportunity for those at Casey who are pressing for senior selection.

Oh, wait …

I think some peeps have been a bit spoiled.. I wish I could make it so that when you jump-off this quickly you can’t enjoy the high-rides but I know where you’re coming from and would’ve once felt similar but this is a perfect day for a team that’s choc-full of confidence and we’re barely there! Maybe this is a butt-smashing we need?

No reason it can’t be.. I choose to keep faith, everything’s going right for them and it’s evident they’re chasing in. I can’t smash a team that’s given me so much resounding reasons to trust them.. I mean look at that Serong Goal for goodness sake off back if DARCY lucky goal and Frederick boundary goal, that’s just bananas & good on em!

We’ll bounce back next week.. you don’t lose ability overnight for goodness sake!

Harden up ppl, it’s a crappy day — move fwd.

We will make the eight.

We will be seventh.

This is a club very much in decline as evidenced by the players we have recruited and kept in Schache, Hunter, McAdam, Fullerton, Bbb....to name a few.

Where players like Petty gets gifted game after game because there is simply no replacement.

We need to rebuild our list and that takes time.

Today is not an aberration. It happened two weeks ago against the eagles. And before that to Carlton and the lions.

We can be competitive but the difference between our best and worst is vast.

Our once touted midfield is alas no longer functioning like it used to and we have one good fwd in Fritta.

Today is ample proof of our deterioration.

How bad must that have been.

Hold that Beer !!!

Whole club needs a come to Jesus moment this week. Casey is in the toilet and the senior team has fallen away badly

Petty has one disposal in three quarters of football. Needs to be dropped ASAP.

Have you ever played footy at an elite lvl and had an opponent steamroll you? It’s no fun & putting pressure on isn’t the issue that got us to this point, least of our worries in this game!

Absolutely wrong.

They are doing as they please under no pressure at all.

The year we won the flag our pressure was manic.

That was my point.

whether I personally have played footy at an elite level or not is completely irrelevant

Bowey !!! LAZY. LAZY. LAZY. MISSED TARGET FROM 10 metres. Turnover. Goal Freo.

missed tackles.  Can’t hold them !!!

Dees look hopeless with the footy. Indecisive!!! Lack skill.

So you are OK with a premiership type list being smashed week in and week out by mediocre opposition?

It's clear this team is not good enough this year, let's stop pretending otherwise.

How is this team losing a game of footy by 82 points? At 3Q??

Gotta be honest I turned off a long time ago because I choose life, but checking in here and there and this is beyond woeful. Nightmare stuff.

The Jackson goal in that quarter, I can’t remember that style of goal happening in the Goodwin era. Witches hats. Used to see it every quarter in the dark days. This is as bad as it gets. I’m sure olisik’s and poita’s fingers are warm.

Some things are clear

we do not deserve to be in the top 8

our forward coach needs to be changed. But we all knew that.

our midfield needs a freshen up.
some recruits do not need to play again and I include some in Casey. Change the bloooody  lot

and the backs need a break,

the coaching staff and whom ever picks the side needs help,

God help us   ( I hope she can) 186. Must have been mind blowing

Have to admit im just laughing at this rabble.  I really shouldn't... I ought to be far more earnest and serious.    Problem is that 18 out there.....aren't

I'm looking forward to the upcoming changes this week.

Out: Hunter. In: Billings... fun times.

Can we please send Goodwin via bus/coach back to Melbourne?

Doesn't deserve to take the plane, and take some of the players too.

Can't wait for the Badloss presser here goes

There is no sugar coating this loss

They were better than us

We will rebound

Just could not get separation

Just could not get anything

We are sheeit

Surely silly Goodwin will give the spot to Woewodin?

We are a mediocre team at present and getting shown up by a lot of teams.

Something has to change because it's not good enough.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
