Unless he was teleported from WA he physically couldn’t attend training any earlier. And no, he knew nothing about us picking him in the MSD until we picked him.

Quite clearly we'll all look back in 50 years and see the fact that Luker Kentfield took "too long" to get to his first training session as the starting point of the crumbling of the MFC empire, much like the sacking of Norm Smith in 1965.  Thanks for bringing it to all our attention so early!

I’m surprised the club didn’t realise pics or an interview with our new recruit. Hopefully it comes out soon.

They don't have a picture on his website profile, so I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for more detailed coverage.

Did I say that?

I'm just highlighting how a club that has beaten us (west coast), has managed to recruit a mid season draftee from Victoria, get them training and playing that same week (kicking 5 in the wafl) and gets announced his debut the following week

Meanwhile our mid season recruit starts training the following week after the draft, and will probably be in the 2s all year

No not going to destroy the club. But maybe shows you the different standards between the 2 clubs

Meanwhile if we picked Kentfield this week you’d probably call us “desperate”.

I think you’ve made your point about a dozen times now. We get it. Time to let it rest because you are annoying the F out of everyone. If that’s your aim then you’ve achieved that too. Well done.

West Coast have a history of playing mid season draft recruits straight away.

The bloke from Charcoal Chicken comes to mind either last year or the year before.

I'm of the belief that the mid season draft should be used for players that can instantly help and impact clubs for the second half of the year. Players that are burning up the VFL/WAFL/SANFL and can hit the ground running in the AFL in a position that a club is currently lacking - eg - a 22+ year old natural forward to help the MFC.

The difference between us and Weagles is that they have had access to the top 5 players available in all drafts over the past 3-4 years. We have to go for best of the rest, who went after us did they play same week or AFL the following week???

you know what, screw it. All aboard the Kenter-train. I'm sick of tearing hair out trying to work out what on earth we're doing on-field. Pick him this week, he'll kick 6. It'll be fun.

Nothing more familiar to a dees fan than getting a whopping and pouring all hope back into draft times. lean into familiarity.

Funny Sunday night I was thinking well we have the fall back of looking forward to the draft as the highlight of the year.

So he arrives with a winning mind-set then @WalkingCivilWar.

Seems to have. Not sure if that’s got to do with barracking for Freo though.

He seems a naturally confident, self-assured kid, but not in a cocky arrogant way. Similar nature to Kolt.

Just watched him on the Dees website you are right WCW another excellent recruit confident and self assured but humble as well. He said that JT rang him on the Monday night and wished him good luck in the draft and he didn’t know that he had been drafted until his coach told him at training that he better check his phone. Really like the look and sound of him.😁😁

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
