Zero chance Tomlinson comes in. Be very surprised if they risk even though his cameo performance was outstanding yesterday.  Could be the difference maker in the forward line eventually.  Bailey for Woewodin is possible.  The only other change could be if they feel need to give Windsor a rest. If that is the case it's Hunter for me.

Meant to say they won't risk McAdam etc. May well target it him for the Eagles game. Carlton might be too soon.

Hey Tom Stewart, want to play on Petty on Laurie? Come on now

Stewart would play on Turner or JVR in this scenario

Petty’s stats:

7 clangers

3 free kicks against /0 for

0 contested marks

The game previous: 2 kicks / 2 clangers

we can’t carry this type of output against better teams

Well said but with respect if he's fit then he's gotta offer more. I don't agree with others that he competed well last night, he was outmarked by his direct opponent often and couldn't get the ball to ground, yes the delivery was horrible but he needs to impact the contest. He'd had a rough or barely any pre season I get it and I know there aren't other options however if there were, the reality is that he loses his forward spot based on these performances.

I wouldn't drop him, absolutely not. However if he isn't going down back then he needs to find a away into these games other than a marks and goals forward. You can bet Chris Scott will be looking to exploit this area next week.

Will continue to back him, we need him to be on next week.

Young, Vlastuin and Grimes each took one contested mark last night. That’s it for Richmond tall defenders and they weren't all vs Petty. You're making stuff up.

I’m not dropping him, he’s competing well imo. Club thinks so too, he’s vital up there.

Reward will come, not sure taking him back to Casey will help.
I saw him lead well numerous times and made space out the back and was either ignored or ball landed at his bootlaces. Some better delivery will help.

I am, he is a liability we cant afford at the moment

I like Goody, but we’ve got a coach who tries about nothing against a coach who usually the 9 easy beat games they get at Goombha to flick around all his magnets.

Goody tries nothing like:

Turner fwd

Petty fwd

Rivers mid

Salem mid

Brayshaw back

T Mac back again

Trying 1/2/3 tall fwds

Playing first year kids like Windsor and Kolt

I reckon Goody gets a bad rep for being stubborn and not trying stuff but he is getting a lot better in this area the last 2 years imo. Also game plan mixed up somewhat this season

Would like to see Adam Tomlinson take on Jezza 🔔 Cameron. On the strict proviso he can translate VFL form to the AFL arena

I am prepared to back the coach, when he said he laughed even if we (me), did not at the number of times we hit up an unmarked opponent with a kick. To be fair we haven't played like that in 10 years but it was very triggering for my MFCSS. My point is that we are honestly not that bad by foot, and if we halved those clangers to +/- 15 then we would have kicked another 5-8 goals, we had them wide open. Instead we gave them a stupendous amount of looks right in the corridor that we were nor possibly able to defend. Both sides were so traumatised at there skill going by foot there was not much dare in the second half. I pray and hope it doesn't happen again.

Am sure Geelong will bring out the  intensity amongst the team, especially as underdog.

I want Petty to have one more go at least, I think it has been a deliberate strategy (which we are not privy too) for him to play underdone. I really think selection and fitness team generally get it right. I understand why people are down on him.

More worrying to me is JVR still taking everything as a chest mark and he bobbles those as well, forced me to agree with BT (of all things) that he needs to have his hands out. This is down on confidence.

One thing I liked about Turner is his connection with Fritsch, that was a positive.

Kozzie is so key to our midfield atm, I would hire a nanny. Gawn is going to get alot of work from Scott and the mids and they have the cattle, we need Kozzie badly for this game to try and halve the clearances.

Curious to see our Tom Stewart plan.

Win these two games against Geelong and Carlton and we will be (barring injuries) in the right mindset for finals. We need some top 4 scalps.

In: Hunter

Out: Woewodin

Windsor to sub.

Petty does need to show something or he is in big trouble, but i honestly have never thought he was a forward

Yep, agree with this suggestion the most.

I think we need more veteran presence against the Cats and happy to recall Hunter on the wing.

Windsor was a bit of a liability with ball last night and Geelong would punish us harder than a depleted Richmond. Think it might be a good week to start him as sub, given we have a 5 day break into Carlton.

One of Laurie or Woewodin to be dropped, but I’m keen to see if Laurie can carry his momentum into a starting role next week.

I wouldn't!

No change.

McAdam seems to have played in 10 min bursts in the VFL, and none in the last, he’s still a couple of weeks off full AFL.

Makes sense to me, but I am looking forward to that day.

He wouldn’t, he always plays on grass/the worst flanker. They use SDK, Kolo and Henry on talls, they still would whether we go 2 or 3 talls, but at least we’d have some aerial support

And I’d like to sleep with Margot Robbie but that’s not going to happen either

yeah fair enough. still Petty will be lucky if selected

I actually am not sure Stewart is a lock to play. The concussion looked a bad one and the game only 14 days after

Billings has just played his BEST game and u want to drop him?? Nar no way. Petty was woeful.

Agree and do those calling for McAdam understand he is nowhere near match fit ?

Only came on for 10 minute bursts then rested at 3/4 time

I'm on the fence as to whether he competed well (I didn't pay him much attention tbh).  But I don't think he is fit - there was a moment in the second quarter where he was looking puffed and he was jogging after the ball as Richmond players handballed it around

Done pretty well for a country girl from Dalby. Impressive in her role in Babylon. Although the movie was rather over long and would have benefited from some serious editing.

Rarely comment on these hypothetical threads. Re-team selections, doubt Goody and the match committee bother to tune in. Bit like democracy ideas get proposed, debated and either are applauded, dismissed or derided. But in reality the elite decide.

Adam Tomlinson was getting plaudits on his on field performances pre-ACL but is now out of favour both here and it appears within the inner-sanctum. Despite appearances last season and this where he didn’t appear to stink it up. Maybe he needs to get the Polaroids from Jake M.

Yeah I've tried to watch some of the game again (I know, shoot me) and I'm a little more undecided now. He did make more leads than I originally noticed.

But we really do need more out of him, big test next week.

Our backline is just needing Bowey and Salem, Tomlinson offers less than TMac and thus won’t play

Tomlinson takes T.Mac place. T.Mac CHF. Petty or JVR out OR Petty and T.Mac swap positions means no Tomlinson.

Mcadam in , out ????

win the contest and post-contest ball and don't let them get it on the outside

our mids need to lift around stoppages

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
