tough start to his coaching career for the Ooze. Tiges have been competitive in most games, but they are ravaged by injuries.

if we are switched on from the get-go, we should win this one comfortably. We've had a bye so will be fresh. Fatigue is no excuse tonight.

I'm confident Max will lead the way and our boys will get the job done with the minimum of fuss.

Dees by 45+ points

Would be great to see a functioning fwd line tonight.

100+ points and JVR and Petty to take some strong marks and kick a few snags

I'll take it either way, but do you mean you're expecting/hoping for a 100+ point score or a 100+ point winning margin?

But after a loss to WC I expect Ooze and Richmond to come out spitting fire, im not expecting an easy game.

For those of you not in Melbourne I can report that after a wet night, we are now bathed in glorious sunshine. From where I am (inner Melbourne) there's not a cloud in the sky. Hope it stays that way for the rest of the day.

Yep the cold front that was earlier predicted to come through later today/afternoon has already swept through. Plenty of time for the sun and wind to dry out the deck for tonight.

Agree. But every game is a danger game. But Tigers are always a threat. They still have enough good players to be dangerous near goals.

I've got a sneaky suspicion that we'll start off slow and the Tigers might even be winning at half time. I know we had a bad loss to Brisbanne, but they would've been really disappointed in their effort against West Coast so I think they'll come out firing. We'll overtake them in the second half and win by about 30 points.

I think the weather will be okay tonight, according to the Bom anyway the bulk of the rain will be done by lunchtime...hopefully.  Bit ordinary that we get worried in the wet though.

Laurie would want to absolutely "bring it" tonight, bit miffed that Kolt got dropped but hopefully he'll be back soon.

GO DEES GAME DAY HELL YEAH!!!

The time is here and I’m putting out a gameday PSA.

If you have never been to the ANZAC eve game before I strongly encourage you to get along tonight. I know it’s an away game but the pre match ceremony is truly something the be seen in person.

“They shall not grow old” and great words but I believe that nights like this really put that into practice. We all enjoy living in this great country and this night is for all of us.

I myself have a deep personal connection with WW2. While my background is Greek, my grandfather and my great uncle served in the RAAF in New Guinea. They both returned but had their lives changed forever from that point on. I’ll always be proud of what these two and many others sacrificed so could live the lives we do today and I’m always thinking of them during the minutes silence.

Regardless of your background or what you believe this night/day is for you and again if you’ve never experienced it I would seriously consider getting along tonight or to the dawn service at the Shrine tomorrow which I’ll also be attending.

And lastly, go the mighty Dees!

Well put Layzie. It's so important to honor our brave men and women who have in many cases paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy and in my case, I reckon don't appreciate enough how much they cost.

I was wondering if people ever wear their or their ancestor's medals to this game?

As for PSA, if people have lost or had ancestor's medals damaged or stolen you may be interested to know that you can apply to the defence department to have them replaced.

Couch, oodie and scotch for me tonight.

I get grumpy when not in my fancy trident club seat with bar right behind me.

I see they have put BBB down as omitted,is the opinion that is they have gone for balance and for or are they taking the opportunity to "manage "him.

Either seems credible, what do we think?

Any insider track watching clues?

Getting Brown and TMac through the season as live options seems crucial to finals success

You're expecting a 100 point win?! Bookies have that as $34 a chance if you're that confident!

So impressed with Tmacs return to form. I just hope Bbb can back to how he was against the dogs. I thought Tmac was done and dusted but he has re.. reinvented himself down back again and doing a very solid job.

As for Bbb I think he may have been hampered by his injuries again  in his last two outings and so yea he sadly needs a break.

Richmond will kick a lot of ground balls into their fwd 50 tonight

We need some agility there because we're not great at that.

I think that Disco Turner will be required to play the role that Joel Smith played last year.

Forward until the game situation is so that he is required as a defender.

Disco also needs a break with injuries.

If we're a good team then this should be a big percentage boosting win for us. Richmond are bottom 4-6 quality and decimated by injury. Despite Yze's intimate knowledge of our team, we should still absolutely belt them akin to a training run. Coming off a fresh break with more fit players available, there's no excuses.

On another note, we need to learn to play the MCG better. It's our home ground, and yet we get beaten there regularly and lose repeatedly to interstate clubs in home games. Our finals record there in recent times speaks for itself. It's concerning that even after years of inconsistency and failure there, nothing appears to have changed from a gameplay or strategic direction. We need the MCG to become a fortress for us. Finals wins at the MCG should be a foregone conclusion, not a battle we lose.

Going full-nuffie today. Gonna go to both matches. The amount of Red Bull and coffee required would drop a horse, but I’m all across it. 🥳

Unrelated: can a person die from guarana overdose? Asking for a friend who may or may not have already had two Vs.

Also, this…

    POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle

The Demons were blown out of the water and were absolutely embarrassing against the Fremantle Dockers in Alice Springs ultimately going down by 92 points and getting bundled out of the Top 8 for the first time since 2020.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
