NON-MFC: Round 03

Ooooooof course that's the outcome. Hey parents everywhere, the AFL condone players thumping opponents in the solar plexus unawares and off the ball. Keep that in mind when supporting your kids into a sport.

Would like to discuss Pendlebury but no time...I'm off to enrol the grandkids in karate lessons...get ready for lots of broken ribs in a few years when they start doing the old Kung Fu karate chops.

Very nice Pendles, blame Lachie Neale for hitting you first, claiming you are the unlucky retaliator who got caught.

Put another player in to save yourself a suspension and maybe even get the other player in trouble.

Would have thought most AFL players would see that as pretty ordinary behaviour.

Pies will go 0-4 and will drop out of contention.

Well, obviously this didn't happen. I'm happy with the Pies at 1-3 and the Lions at 0-3. But I don't think any team is out of contention after losing just 3 games in a row. Obviously it looks bad when it's early in the Season but at some stage good teams will get on a run. Similarly I can't see how odds for Premiership can be so short after 3 games. Sydney $5, GWS $5.50. I know odds aren't purely based on the 3 games so far in 2023, but with injuries, especially at season end, poor form, let alone that there's 20 matches still to play I wouldn't be backing any team at those odds. You've still got to win 3 finals games including the last 2 to be Premiers!

On top of that, two of their AFLW players were done this week for drug use.

Shocking culture at Sydney going back decades to Swans player Dale Lewis’ 2002 statement that 75 per cent of AFL players had tried illicit drugs.

The Swans’ culture should receive saturation coverage in the media over the next week.

And Wicks isn’t the only Swans player not to get a game this weekend. They have a bye.

Is the Herald Sun kinda like the sporting version of women's weekly.

So much stuff being printed based on stories rather than verified facts

Out of the 2, I’d consider the HS to be more of a rag mag

No doubt much that goes on is swept under the carpet with many players and clubs Jack.

Unless of course it gets leaked out to the public and/or media.  Loose lips sink ships!

Saints have kept the Bombers in this game with poor goal kicking, annoying, I hate the Bombers.

On the umps, what has happened to HTB this season? It’s always been hit and miss and they’ve always called far too few incorrect disposal for my liking but the absolute classic ‘take them on, get tackled, drop ball, HTB’ is just not getting paid this year. It’s a blight on the game, that’s the best bit of the rule!!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
