Weid is the only top 10 KPF of recent times that's been a bust.

It could be argued that both Hogan and Jackson were busts as key forwards, in that we couldn't keep them at the club. Whilst we did get decent picks in return for them, it has clearly left a vacuum in personnel and development in that area of our list.

And before anyone claims Jackson is a ruck, he would've been a key forward and 2nd fiddle ruck to Max and currently is that to Darcy (when Darcy's not injured)

Hogan would be really handy now but I think we did well in the trade.

It could be argued, but any such argument would be weak. 

Hogan brought supporter interest back during the Roos era, left us for a host of personal reasons which we had no chance of changing, and we “cashed” him in for Steven May, without whom we’d never have won the flag.

Jackson then also helped us win the flag and we “cashed” him in for three top picks.

You missed the point I was making 

Whilst we got short term return from Hogan and Jackson, and some picks in return, their long term absence has left a big hole in that end of the ground for us.

Hence why we're now pinning our hopes on an injury prone key back who has played a handful of games forward, a scrawny, hunch-backed 19 yr old barely noticeable at VFL level, and an ex basketballer that Brisbane were prepared to trade for pick 47

We have arguably the best back line and midfield in the AFL, but a bottom 6 forward line. I think it cost us the flag last year, regardless of injury excuses

Billings definitely haven’t and Woey no.

I've seen them work as defensive wings, but that is doing the rail running, and getting into the defensive zone structure.

 I reckon Woey would be better at it then Billings, as he is a bit more reserved, whereas Billings is a natural attacker. 

The next open training is the captain's run, that will give us a much better idea of where the selected will play.

I would disagree with that assessment re: Hogan, as converting him into May was precisely what we needed to do at the end fo 2018 and it paid off for 2021. For Jackson, we got the picks but whether or not they work out for us is clearly TBD.

I sure hope so (not that it’s a particularly nice description of Jefferson).

Fullarton needs to come in and make an impact, he JVR and Fritsch need to work closely together to split up the defenders and our small need to crumb not compete in the air with them, open up the forward line isolate the defenders kick some easy goals. Jefferson is more a Fritta type of player but 7cm taller, probably better suited to a half forward flank at least initially but still 12 months off. Petty and JVR are our power fwd’s, we desperately need them out on the park with Fullarton and Fritsch.

Fullerton must play this week. This is why he was traded in.  Get it done.  Give him at least 6-7 weeks partnering with Gawn before we start to make judgement
