My guess is that they will be given till sunday to prove their fitness.

Fergs to do rivers role... needed on the wide expanse of Subi (maybe Ricky-Bobby coud do that role but probably giving him a chance to prove his fitness also).

If they play we will see no ward, holland and maybe wanock.

Ward was named in the 18 so I doubt he's going to be omitted.

We couldn't be this lucky could we

In: M.Whelan, R.Petterd, R.Ferguson, B.McLean

Out: B.Moloney [groin], N.Brown, D.Ward, B.Holland

Not a bad team IMO...

No, I very much doubt it. Ward and Brown were both named in the 18 and that means they're playing 99% of the time.

i'm hoping its some shrewd coaching from mr D by naming wheels mclean and petterd on the bench. i really hope they are fit enough to play, because wheels and mclean have history of soft tissue injuries, and we dont want to start a youngster on the same path in pettered.

but if they're 100% this game could be on

agree on moloney being out, he needs to prepare for next season and make sure that he is clear of OP, i think the final changes will be

IN:Petterd and Ferguson

OUT: Warnock, Moloney

Mclean and whelan should be 100% fit before they make their way back in the team

ND probably thinks we are still in the finals race and won't carry warnock also there is big Q, and with fergs good form he'll get his go. Petterd has been impressive and i think ND will be keen to let him cement his spot in the 22. Ward or Doggy may be free'd up on the wing to carry the ball. Ricky is skilful with the ball and a more reliable option on the hbf.

I'm still 50/50 with ND, some part of me says he should stay for what he has done for the club and his unluckiness with the injuries, but he has been there for a while, so hopefully we make the right decision at the end of the season.

i doubt that's the way the hf line will look at any stage of the game. we all know what these team lists end up as

Brock on the bench does not thrill me. The means if he plays he will be JUST scraping in for "100%".

yeah but the other side to that is, when you see brock play it looks like he'd have to lose a foot to miss a game, not just break one. he'll be fine

Glad to see Brock is named. Means he cant be far off, even though I don't expect him to play this week. Subiaco is a hard ground to play, and if he isn't fit enough he will struggle and injure and hammy or something.

Concerned about Rivers. Our best defender by a mile, and he cant get out on the park, just like Matty Whelan. Every time Rivers has played this year, he's been sensational, and everyone remembers just how good he really is. It's a worry that alot of our star players of the future (Brock, Rivers, Moloney, Sylvia) all struggle badly with injury.

Exactly LT. Pity they haven't got the constitution or recovery skills of a Godfrey. It is a bit of a worry when they get injured all the time at this stage of their careers. :(

Yeah exactly. It seems strange that McLean and Whelan are named on the bench - I would have thought they are either in the seniors or not playing at all. McLean and Whelan should never play at Sandy.

Agree. It just means they're giving him until the last possible minute to prove his fitness. He won't play.

Out: Warnock, Holland, McLean.

He just speculates.

Just logical actually. I really don't think he will play. I take into consideration his injury, who we are playing, our current position. I don't think he will play.

Ferg in the starting 18

This means he will definitely play

To those of you havent figured out this rule by now, may God help you

Ferg to show WC his stuff.

Straight trade for Chris Judd at the end of the year.

If only. :)

Geez at this rate we're going to have a belter of a side for the Roos game.

Assuming no more injuries, we should have McLean, Whelan, Robertson, Petterd and Rivers all back. Pity thats the only Victorian game I can't get to this year.

Best case scenario for Rivers is that they didn't want to subject his back to a 3-4 hour flight. Worst case scenario is that its something way more sinister.

Think Whelan and Petterd will play but they'll save Brock for the Roos.

Logical wins...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
