It's hilarious how this very minor issue has triggered the "Old man shouting at clouds" brigade.

i think it's more to do with aflw than afl.  there's your reason.

But it shouldn’t be more to do with the AFLW. Why would/should it be? It’s not like the no white shorts ruling - which only applies to the AFLW - a decision that was made because research was showing that having to wear white shorts was stopping many young girls from continuing to play footy once they reached early teens. There’s no reason for the W comp to be any different to the M in terms of disclosing a player’s weight.

Or old woman!!!! 🤣

Changed ‘women’ to ‘woman’ since there’s only one old woman shouting at clouds that I know of 😁

Don’t get me started on cloud seeding, Chem trails etc.

It triggers me.

What would you rather shout at. The clouds or your missus. Clouds are much safer.

It happens in the WAFL weekly footy Budget only the male listed players across all grades have their weight published the female players don’t it’s height only

Do they measure people or do the players just tell (whoever) what their height is?

Height person:  What height are you?

Player:  I'm 190 centimeters

HP : Are you sure, you don't look that tall?

Player:  You're not allowed to talk to me like that

HP:  You're right, sorry.  See you later, titch!  Next!!

That’s ridiculous. Publish everyone’s weight or no one’s weight. I can’t imagine there’d be female athletes who’re against having their weight known. If they are, maybe they’re in the wrong profession. 🤷‍♀️

well, i now won't be able to say "who's that big sheila in the ruck"

and presumably "who's that big fella in the ruck".  😲

Every players height and weight gets done from development through seniors and done every season

I was being flippant, PSD

Although, I do question the actual height of a few players but I won't name names!

I just do not understand how reporting weight would be offensive..

we are talking about weight due to muscle mass, not obese fat.. (mostly)

what is  next, we do not report weight in boxing.?

Next will be height as short players may feel offended. [censored].

Stop offending people…..

So... can we say that player x is as wide as they are high?😁

Only if his surname is "Choad"

Weird move by AFL, think there are more pressing issues. Seems like a political correctness agenda. Might make match ups a little tricker for opposition analysts with access to oppositions heights only. Might have to get WikiLeaks onto this stuff.

According to Ch7 the aFL have made the move so that players won’t be “Fat Shamed”, what an absolute load of garbage. Oohh I am so Woke I can’t stand up straight. Lol.!!!!

this is what is bizarre

reporting of weight is not about fat shaming in elite sport...

mostly it is interesting for the young new rookies...

is new player x  90+kg's,  ooh they may be able to play 1st year.

is player x 70kg,  Ok, they are a few years away, they need to PUT ON A FEW KG'S...

strength/muscle bulk mass vs agility/speed debate.... nothing to do with fat, because elite players are not fat.

The fat shaming was the old skin folds test, you would come off your break and see the callipers and you knew your were in trouble.  Then coming back after Christmas always 3-4km time trail and skin fold test.

The dreaded callipers. 😱
One afternoon last week Fritta was at his mum’s. She said, “Are you staying for dinner, Bayles?” He said, “Depends on what you’re cooking, I’ve got a fat-pinch and a 2k-er tomorrow.” She was cooking a creamy pasta dish. He didn’t stay for dinner. 😁

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
