If I attend, I’ll be submitting the following questions:

1) what was the rationale and perceivedĀ competitive advantage behind playing one man less than our opponent in the semi final, on a warm September night. Bearing in mind that the opposition’s sub was instrumental in setting up the winning goal.

2) Why did we play one tall defender short against Collingwood in the qualifying final when McStay kicked 2 goals on smaller opponents and 2 goals was essentially the difference. We demonstrated in the Essendon, Fremantle and Carlton (rd 22) losses that playing just 2 tall defenders is a losing formula.

3) Why did we travel back to Melbourne between our West Coast game and Gather Round, rather than setting up camp in Adelaide prior to the Essendon game? A game that proved to be our most lethargic and poorest of the year. Where was the foresight and innovation that the Dogs showed when they went from Gather Round direct to Perth (rather than heading back home) and had a solid win over Freo?

4) How is the club addressing our gross inaccuracy in the finals series, and ensuring that next year we give ourselves every opportunity to win a final rather than lamenting miss after miss.

All good and valid points raised- another maybe the injuries to many players?

So we can’t ask a question about Peter Lawrence taking the club to Court?

You would have to ask someone on the Board that question I would think.

they have to be footy department related questions. Bear in mind the AGM is the following week, good time to ask that question then.Ā  I'm sure plenty of members have an opinion about this!

I can’t make the meeting but am hopeful that a few of our regulars can make the forum and provide an update for the rest of us. Not often we get the opportunity to get an insight into the recent changes in personnel and a bit of perspective on FD issues and plans moving into 2024. Looking forward to some positive feedback from participants and the FD, especially McQualter and what he hopes to bring to the club.

Correct. You refer to the one held in late 2019

The erson who bagged Oscar was Question 1 and was rightly booed by audience members and well handled by Pert

Good, what a clown.

The Board needs to explain it’s treatment of Peter Lawrence. Is this a fair election?

Updates would be appreciated from those of us at work who are procrastinating on demonland but can't actively watch.

Did any Demonlanders attend???

Hopefully the football forum went well?

Were pertinent questions answered satisfactorily?

As much as we want explanations on our failed finals campaign I would have gone easy on Simon Goodwin and Clayton Oliver especially due to the despicable treatment they endured from the media over the last few months (years even for Simon Goodwin).

Reckon 50 max in attendance, excluding MFC staff and officals. 8 or 9 questions.

Interesting. I figured Pert's comment about 3000 was intended to buy a laugh - it didn't - but 50 is pretty poor. Could not make it myself due to other commitments.

HTD that is extremely poor turn out from our supporters, however it may indicate that our base aren’t as concerned as the club thought. I wonder how many were on line?

Ā

Bad time of year to have it, not surprised about the low turn out.
Ā

Interest in football at its lowest for the year, lots of other activities on and the club has shot itself in the foot the last two years through poor team selection and player management.

Ā

Personally, I’m not interested in the training base, it’s nice to have for the club in terms of future security, being closer to the city and so on but we won a flag almost exclusively training out of Casey so that’s all that matters to me.
