It is a complete no no for opposition list managers to state a player wants to leave a club. Even if they throw in "at some stage". Reid has no right to comment on an opposition player's 'desire' in this manner.

Demons will rightly be livid with this.

agreed

hopefully he gets a please explain letter from the afl

but i'm not holding my breath

i hope harry views it as a breach of privacy by afc and is rightly p****d off

In the last 6 quarters Petty and van Rooyen played togather Melbourne scored 182 points and the two combined for 14 goals.

It's a small sample size, but encouraging nonetheless.  When they were mising as a pairing for the last 20 quarters of the season the team's score was a little more than half as good per quarter.

How many contested marks and marks inside 50? 🤔 guessing those stat would be very high

Is Petty’s head going to be in the game next year? Or will we be looking at a similar season to Luke Jackson’s in 2022? Judging by the 9news Adelaide interview that’s just come out, this guy is really keen to be back home. Not encouraging at all

Yeah did not sound convincing one bit. Definitely wants to get back home by the sounds of it.

Human side of me says we should just respect his wishes and just cash in now while we can.

I am coming round to this exactly. It will probably met us Harley Reid. Petty has mentally checked out by the sounds of that interview

Yeah really seemed excited for the next 2 years at the Dee's . 🤦

I believe his words where. The decision was made by Melbourne ( I took from it he may have been open to the trade) I'm happy to be on an AFL list, love MFC. Got 2 year contract. Open to being back  in Adelaide at some stage 😱

Fog and Petty went to school together and played state football as well.

Only made the 3rd top story on Channel Nine news, Welcome to life in Adelaide.

Sounds like the sort of thing someone says, that gets quoted back to them after Jake and Harry carve up every defence in the comp. Providing they can stay fit, I think they could be a fantastic combination: both young, aggressive players who like a tackle, can mark and kick well.

I've definitely changed my mind set after this interview. I'm no longer counting on Petty being our long-term answer to our key forward needs. I am confident we can cover him as a key back... Turner, Tomlinson, Adams. I'm now on the 'get us another gun key forward' bandwagon!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
